MINUTES FOR HONINGTON PARISH MEETING HELD IN St. WILFRID’S CHURCHON THE 8th June 2015 AT 7.00PM

Item 1 / Minutes of the Last Meeting and Matters Arising.
1. The minutes of the meeting on 1st October 2013 were read and recorded.
Item 2 / Matters arising.
2. The Clerk informed the meeting of progress on a number of issues raised with the Highways Department. In particular changes to the ditch which runs from Hallfield Crescent and the Sleaford Road.
Mr. Fletcher informed the meeting that the drain was blocked again and needed to be cleaned out. The Clerk was asked to follow this up and ask for all the surface water drains in Main Street and Doctor’s Hill to be cleared and emptied.
Item 3 / Planning and other items received from SKDC
3. The Clerk informed the meeting that Stephen Phillips had been re-elected as the local MP. Rosemary Kaberry Brown and Ian Stokes had been elected as our representatives on SKDC in the Peascliffe and Ridgeway Ward.
Since our last meeting, successful planning applications had been granted to the Smart’s at Hall Farm for a new garage, The Hawes’ for an extension to their home and the Paske’s to convert Manor Court Barn.
Applications for Wind Turbines at Carlton Scroop, a Solar Farm at West Willerby and the Solar Farm at Honington had been refused but Haymaker Energy was appealing against this decision.
Consultations had been received from SKDC on Boundary Changes to both District Council Wards and Parliamentary Constituencies.
A Local Crime Survey is also being carried out.
Item 4 / Election of Officers
4. Penny Swift was not seeking re-election as Chair. The Clerk thanked Penny on behalf of the meeting for all her hard work over the previous five years and in particular for her efforts in improving the relationship with staff at The Highways Department.
Two nominations for Chairman were received and confirmed from Kate Holley and Dominic Donoghue. The first contested vote for many yearsresultedin a tie and the meeting decided, following a proposal from Tim Carter which was seconded by Wendy Coney that both Kate and Dominic be appointed joint Chairman.
Michael Paske was re-appointed Clerk.
Item 5 / Any other business
5. Mr. Major had asked that something be done about litter in and around the village. It was agreed that volunteers should carry out a collection around the village using materials supplied by SKDC.
6. Mr. Fletcher asked if leaves on the pavement outside the Nursery and Stoneacre could be removed. It was agreed that a number of residents would carry out this task.
7. Dog fouling on Frinkley Lane and on the track leading from the Sleaford Road up on to the heath was increasing. The Clerk was asked to contact Environmental Health to see if notices could be erected instructing owners to clean up after their animals and provide bins to aid disposal.
8. Wendy Coney asked when Frinkley Lane would be resurfaced. The Clerk had already asked the Highways Department about this and was waiting for their reply.
