2017-2018Home Study Textbook Requirements

for Families opting in for Family Life

Expectations for Kindergarten through Grade 5:

  1. Complete 10 chapters in We Believe by the January 7review.
  2. Complete 5 Units of Family Life curriculum and complete 5 additional chapters in We Believe by April 29 review.
  3. Two seasonal chapters within each unit can be substituted for one chapter in each unit.
  4. Complete each chapter test (unit tests are optional)

Expectations for Grade 6

  1. Complete 7 chapters in We Believe Units 1 & 2 byJanuary 7 review.
  2. Complete all 5 Units of Family Life curriculum and 3 additional chapters in We Believe Units 2 &3 by April 29 review.
  3. Two seasonal chapters in We Believe within each unit can be substituted for one chapter in each unit.
  4. Complete each chapter test (unit tests are optional)

Expectations for Grades 7 & 8:

  1. Complete Chapters 1-5 & Unit 1 review by January 7 review.
  2. Complete all 5 Units of Family Life curriculum and complete Chapters 6 & 12 by April 29 review.

Expectations for Grades 9-12:

  1. Complete Chapters 1-5 & accompanying chapter quizzes by January 8review.
  2. Attend “Created to Love” (February 11, 18, 25, March 3, and March 11)
  3. Complete Chapters 6-8 & accompanying chapter quizzes by April 29review.

Additional Home Study Requirements

  1. Attend the mid-year & year-end reviews
  2. Choose one additional parish catechetical event to participate in as a family (see suggestion hand-out for ideas)
  3. Learn a lot, grow together in faith, and have fun!
