Title:WRESTLE WITH GOD

Scripture Text: Genesis 37:23, 41:46

INTRODUCTION

Joseph was seventeen years old when he had his dream and became a target, at the same time his father made a coat for him, his brothers were not happy with him and they decided to sell him out. Everybody has a coat and everybody's coat is according to their assignment so you don't have to be jealous of someone else's coat. When you understand the coat that has been made for you, you won't be jealous of someone else's. Know that you flourish the most when you put on your own coat.

Points of Discussion

What do you learn from Genesis 37:23, 41:46?

Looking at someone else's coat is a time wasted to wearing your own coat.

It is alright to be a target, but know that you have God on your side.

Joseph got a dream when he was seventeen and his dream came to pass, when he was thirty years old - when he stood before Pharaoh.

Dreams don't happen overnight, there's usually a waiting period. It took thirteen years before his dream was realized.

During the waiting period, Joseph had to wrestle with God and not with the people who hates or jealous of him.

Things you need to know…..

You have to finish your own assignment, your coat is your assignment that you have to carry.

You have to get to a place where you realize that other people are unique and they have to put on their own coat.

Find your own coat.

You wrestle against principalities, and powers, but you wrestle with God. Whenever you are in a confused state, you wrestle (talk) with God. Genesis 32:24-30

CONCLUSION

Jacob wrestled with the Angel of God for his blessing and he got transformed. You lose your old self and you become a new person when you wrestle with God. When you wrestle with God, you overcome powers and principalities. When you take care of the spiritual, the natural conforms. Joseph, whose robe was stripped from him got a new robe with authority attached to it at the age of thirty. Genesis 41: 41-45
