School of Computing Courses (Part Time Routes) / Year/Day/TimesHNC/D Computing (Information Technology) / Year 1 Tuesday 9am to 6pm
I am writing to you with the details of the Induction Day on Tuesday 28th September 2010 for the above mentioned courses.
Students who did not enrol online or during the University open days WED 15th Sept 2010 need to attend at 9.00am in room G0/57 to formally enrol onto the course. For those students who have enrolled prior the day starts at 9.30am in room G0/57 with a course overview followed by registration for the Teesside University Student Card (TUSC). The G prefix is for the Greig Building or the School of Computing.
The remainder of the day will be spent introduction a number of Student Support and Services in operation at the UoT, presentation on the School of Computing IT facilities and an overview of the Learning Resource Centre.
The normal course timetable will commence at 9.00am on Tuesday 5th October 2010. Please visit the following web address: www.scm.tees.ac.uk/m.nawaz and click on the HNC/D ADMIN tag for provisional timetables. Please note that it is only lecture periods that operate during the first teaching week. Other special classes may be in operation and will be indicated on the Week 1 timetable. Full timetable will be in operation on Tuesday 12th October 2010 and will be again available online.
Once your student account is activated you are advised to note your own personal provisional timetable when you log onto the School of Computing Intranet.

Room G0/57 is on the ground floor of the Greig Building (formally the Computing Sciences Building).
Room OL1, OL7 & OL8 is the main lecture theatre in the Open Learning Technology Centre.
Room IT 1/34 & IT 1/36 is the Information Technology building attached to the Greig Building
During the lunch break you may wish to join the Students Union (Students Union Building)
Please make sure you are prompt for TUSC registration which will provide both swipe card and your student computer account. Use your student computer account details to log onto the School of Computing intranet to obtain your own personal timetable.
If you have any problems with your enrolment you should report to the Administrative Reception in the Greig Building.
