Using the Portable Sony Video Projector

The portable video projector can be connected to a computer for PowerPoint presentations using a VGA cable.

For Apple computers with Keynote presentations you need to provide your own VGA to Apple adapter.

If you need technical help with the equipment, the call out fee is $50.00 / $90.00 (see hire agreement form).

It is recommended that you connect and switch on equipment in the following order:-

  1. Laptop must be switched OFF at the start.
  1. Plug projector cable into laptop.
  1. Point the projector at the screen.
  1. Turn on projector with remote control. The projector has automatic focus and adjusts automatically to a suitable angle for projection.
  1. When projector is on and the image visible on the screen make sure it says 'Input A' in top left corner of the screen. If not just toggle the 'SELECT' button on projector remote control until screen shows 'Input A'.
  1. Turn on laptop.
  1. As the laptop boots up it should automatically set up correctly for use with the projector.
  1. You can now improve the picture by aligning the projector with the up down control with the vertical keystone button on the projector.
  1. The projector does not have any sound. If you have sound you need to use the loudspeakers in your computer or a separate sound system. If you don’t have a sound system of your own we can hire the BOSE system for an additional fee.
  1. After you have finished turn off the video projector with the remote control. It takes a few minutes to cool down. Don’t unplug the projector or move it while the fan is going as it requires this to cool down. If it is not allowed to cool down properly you run a high risk of blowing the bulb, and as they are very expensive to replace you may be invoiced for it.
