WORK EXPERIENCE CONTRACT
- I acknowledge that by signing this document I am agreeing to participate fully in the work experience programme during the academic year
- I accept that this programme is a compulsory element of the course
- I accept that I must satisfactorily complete this programme, including both the placement and submission of portfolio in order to be eligible to gain a full FETAC award
- I accept that I must complete a minimum of 10 day’s work experience regardless of any extenuating circumstances including certified sick leave

Assessment Brief
You are required to prepare a report of your planning and preparation for work experience. The report should demonstrate a clear understanding of the value of planning and preparation in order to maximise learning opportunities and participate effectively during work experience.
Your report should be structured using the following headings:
- Report introduction
- Comprehensive skills audit
- Goals for work experience
- Job finding skills including contingency plans
- Document preparation (including CV and letter of application)
- Summaryof employment legislation including your rights as an employee and employer rights and responsibilities

Work undertaken
Provide a detailed and comprehensive account of the tasks undertaken in your section/ department for that day. Outline both what you did and what you observed today, the work assigned to you and the work you undertook without assignment. Clearly identify your own role and outline the time allocated to the task. You should relate the task undertaken to the skills you have acquired as part of your studies. In your description you should make an effort to provide a context for any activities and the role of your work placement colleagues. Any significant observations about or events within the organisation should be documented here.
