Dear Parents,

Hinojosa Early Childhood and Head Start Center is the school in the MacArthur area that serves eligible three and four year old children from Raymond, Stephens, Worsham and OdomElementary Schools. Our programs include PPCD (Pre-School Program for Children with Disabilities) and PK (Pre-Kindergarten including Head Start). Students are eligible for PPCD if they are between three and five years of age and meet eligibility requirements for Special Education. Children are eligible for PK/Head Start if they are four years of age on or before September 1, 2017 and meet eligibility requirements for the PK program.

If you feel that your child would benefit from PPCD and he/she may meet Special Education guidelines, please call 281-985-7519. In order to qualify for these services, the child must have severe deficits in speech/language development, motor/physical problems, hearing loss or impaired vision.

Summer registration for our PK/Head Start program will take place during the summer fromJuly 20 – August 3by appointment only. Please call the school between the hours of 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m.at

281-985-4750 beginning June 6, 2017 to set up an appointment time. Please understand that you must come at your scheduled appointment time only. You should bring your child on the day of your appointment and have all required, current documents. If your child will be 4 years old after the scheduled appointment time and before September 1, you may keep the appointment and return with updated vaccination information after the child’s 4th birthday. We are located at 1620 Lauder Road.

Please bring the information listed below to ensure that your child can be enrolled in an efficient manner.

Please allow 3-4 hours to complete the registration process the day of your appointment.

  • Birth Certificate (from the Bureau of Vital Statistics)
  • Social Security Card (for the child)
  • Proof of Address (current light, gas, water bill or lease only; no disconnect notices)
  • If you live with someone and the bills are NOT in your name, the person on the bill must come with you and have a valid ID or Driver’s License with current address that appears on the bill.
  • Parent Picture ID Parent’s name enrolling must be on child’s birth certificate.
  • Shot Record (DTAP and polio booster on or after 4th birthday, 2 MMR’s, HIB given after 15 months, 1st dose Pneumococcal on or after 24 months, 2 doses Hepatitis A, 3 doses Hepatitis B and 2 doses of Varicella unless child’s had the chickenpox disease) We recommend that you take the shot record to your child’s doctor to be read a few days before registration appointment date (if not sure that all vaccines are there) to make sure that your child has all the vaccinations.
  • Total Household Income Documentation (Most recent month’s worth) If you are paid in cash, you will need to bring a current NOTARIZED LETTER indicating your income for the last 30 days before your appointment. If you are receiving SNAP,TANF, SSI, Medicaid or any other government assistance you will need to bring current proof with amount shown.
