Big Names to Raise Big Bread for Food Bank of Iowa
It’s the 2nd Annual “STAR 102.5 Concert to Combat Hunger”
Des Moines, IA– STAR 102.5 has partnered with some of today’s hottest artists to go even bigger this year to benefit “Combat Hunger”, the annual fundraiser for the Food Bank of Iowa. STAR artists Gavin DeGraw, Michelle Branch and Andy Grammer will headline“STAR 102.5’s Concert to Combat Hunger”, an all-ages show, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Prairie Meadows. Tickets are just $29 with proceeds going to benefit the Food Bank of Iowa; tickets go on sale this Friday.
“Last year’s concert was such a success that word got around and these great artists wanted to step up to help this year’s event be even bigger. We’re very excited to have a chance to raise a lot more money for the Food Bank of Iowa,” says Scott Allen, Operations Manager for STAR 102.5.
Once again, Prairie Meadows is proud to Present “STAR 102.5’s Concert to Combat Hunger”. Jeff Nelson, Director of Marketing for Prairie Meadows says, “Combat Hunger fits perfectly with our principle mission, giving back to the community in ways that make a direct difference. Feeding Iowans is just that.” The other sponsors helping make this event possible are Casey’s General Stores, Iowa Speedway and Coors Light.

“STAR 102.5’s Combat Hunger” is November 17 and 18, 2011. It is a collaborative effort between Central Iowa businesses and schools and is Iowa's largest two-day food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Iowa, which supplies food and other materials to hundreds of agencies in 42 Iowa counties.
