Hilldale PTC Meeting Minutes

November 13, 2013

·  Meeting called to order 7:35pm

·  Dedicate Playground in honor of Sheree Monetti

·  Gail Serwick OT: New furniture for schools. Rocker chairs. She received feedback from teachers. Allow movement for the children while sitting in class and listening to teachers. She received a grant from the MEF. Requested $13K and received $8K. Board of Education will help unpack and unload truck when they arrive. This will save $1500. She requested PTC of Woodmont and Hilldale Schools to help with the difference in money.

·  Mrs. Cisneros: Parking issue for drop off. Please park IN A SPOT not in the middle of the road. There was a safety issue on Halloween. When she requests certain things, such as no masks, it’s for a reason. Parent’s need to follow instructions, directions and obey requests. ABSOLUTELY no people other than class parents allowed in building for parties. Parents that are complaining about lockdowns and fire drills are informed that it is a state law as well as Bus evacuations. Wallkie Talkie’s have been ordered for communication purposes between classes, teachers and office. Goal is 1 per classroom. Class Mom Name tags have been ordered and need to be worn when given out so as to easily identify people.

·  Report cards: 11/22/13. Standard based report card.

·  Mrs. Cisneros gave presentation regarding new report cards. District slide show and samples are on the district website. Click here.

·  Mrs. Tsukamoto applied for a grant for iPads and Chrome books.

·  Mrs. Cisneros wants to make Smartboards more interactive with students. iPads can be used as clickers with Apps.

·  Mrs. Reinknecht needed volunteers to help paint a mural. (Note: On 12/6 5th grade and High School students will be painting one mural)

·  Mrs. Reinknecht needed volunteers to put together tables in the Peace Garden (Note: On Sunday, 11/17 a group of moms and dads showed up and assembled tables as well as spruced up the area. Mrs. R. expresses her thanks!)

·  Hot Lunch: More options introduced this cycle. Pay Pal introduced. MUST abide by deadlines and be considerate of those volunteers so they can do their jobs efficiently.

·  Mr. B.: Aces sendoff. Was given a personalized football jersey, engraved whistle and a football signed by the 5th graders.

·  Event Committee: Family Nights-1/24/14 Laser Light Show; 2/28/14 Mardi Gras Dance. Spring Hilldale/Woodmont Softball game. Parents and students will be able to participate.

·  11/27 Weird Hair day. Prizes will be awarded

·  Teacher of the year: 12/6/13 is the deadline. Application is in the Monday memo.

·  Nominating Committee: 5 members to find candidates for the 2014-16 Board. Looking for 3 public laymen and 2 from board. Names to be submitted by January and elections in March for next year’s board. Anyone interested in being on the committee or a candidate can contact the PTC.

·  Treasurer: $57,019. Is the balance. Yankee candle profit $1330. Kidstuff profit $2600 and wrapping paper profit $1910.

·  PTC Supplemented $700 for class parties for those whose parents did not send in $10 for their child

·  Mrs. Weber: Baby gift of Monogrammed Towel

·  Box Tops: Mrs. Forst’s class won with 1322 box tops. Hilldale received $704.

·  Enrichment: Winter session starts January 6. Deadline for signup is 12/13. Forms on Hilldale website.

·  Holiday Boutique: November 19, 20 and 21

·  Book Fair December 9, 10 and 11

·  Hilldale apparel for sale
