MONTICELLO FOUNDATION, INC.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

PURPOSE: Founded in 1995, the Monticello Foundation is a tax-exempt corporation whose sole purpose is providing scholarships for Monticello High School graduates. Scholarships are funded from the earnings on the principal in the fund, made possible by contributions from alumni, community members, and organizations.

CRITERIA: Students intending to continue their education at either a technical college or 4-year college may apply. Applications will be evaluated using the following guidelines:

Academics 30%

Activities & Leadership 30%

Community Activities & Citizenship 30%

Work Experience & Financial Need 10%

AMOUNT: A number of scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000 each to be paid first semester of the student’s second year of college.

DEADLINE: Applications are due March 30, 2018 to Mrs. Wells, Guidance Counselor.

GUIDELINES: Complete application carefully. Your application represents the entire and only picture of you the selection committee has. MAKE SURE YOUR APPLICATION APPEARS NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL. Proofread your application. Have at least one other person review your application prior to submission. The best applications will be in the form of essays that add depth and meaning to the facts about you. Everyone needs financial assistance, but if you feel you have special circumstances or financial obstacles, please provide appropriate narrative.
