HIGH RISE FLATS ACCESS

Additional protection is available to make you feel safer in your home – please see the Facts below.

1.  Restricted access – Landlord Services upgraded the entry system and can restrict areas (the basement for example) at set times or days or to individuals. In addition, the system records who fobs are issued to and what areas the fob accesses or attempts to access.

2.  Intercom/Camera access – each resident has an intercom phone and the facility to view the front door camera through their own TV set.

3.  Emergency access – in order for emergency services to gain access to the block, all 999 services have an individual code so that access to services is not delayed.

4.  Health and Safety – all high rise blocks have been inspected by the fire department and all necessary works completed.

Important Information

Ø  If you get a call on your intercom system and you do not know who it is, you should NOT let them into the block

Ø  The entry doors are slower to close to allow access for users with poor mobility and users of mobility scooters. If you do not recognise the person behind you, please ‘check and challenge’ anyone trying to follow you into the block.

Ø  The high rise blocks are occupied by many older and/or vulnerable people. The intercom system is to protect everybody and you are responsible for anybody you allow into the building

Ø  You are strongly advised to keep your front door locked at ALL times, especially with concerns around non-residents getting into the blocks

Ø  If you witness anybody causing a nuisance in or around the block, you can report this to Tamworth Borough Council on 01827 709514

Ø  If you witness anybody causing criminal damage or other criminal offences, you can report this to Staffordshire Police on 101

Ø  Regular visitors to your block include the Estate Caretaking and Cleaning team, your Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Community Wardens, Police Community Support Officers, Police Officers and repair contractors. All these teams can witness incidents of anti social behaviour and can pass on concerns for you.
