High intensity discharge (hid) bulkhead luminaire designed FOR INDUSTRIAL, PERIMETER AND SECURITY LIGHTINGAPPLICATIONS WHERE THE HIGH LUMEN OUTPUT OF HID LAMPS AREREQUIRED.

The luminaire shall consist of a high-pressure die-cast aluminium body with non-discolouring prismatic high-impact acrylic diffuser bowl and shall be designed to operate 80/125W mercury vapour and 70/100/150W high-pressure sodium/metal halide lamps.

The luminaire shall bear the SANS60598-2-1 safety mark.

The luminaire shall have a degree ofprotection that complies with SANS60598-2-1:

Lamp compartment: IP66

The IP rating shall be certified by an SABStest report.

The body shall be manufactured fromhigh-pressure die-cast aluminium.It shall be supplied with three mountingholes, but can also be supplied with no holes in the body, usingmounting lugs instead, onrequest.Electrical cable entry shall be via acompression type gland at therear of the luminaire, but otherentries can be provided onrequest.A high-pressure die-castaluminium decorative skirtassembly shall be available forarchitectural applications. The body can be semi-recessed or surface mounted. It shall be available for Zone 2, 21 and 22 applications.

The diffuser bowl shall be manufacturedfrom non-discolouring injection moulded high impact acrylic. The prisms shall be restricted to theinside of the bowl and shall be carefully formed to work inconjunction with the reflector to provide a spacing to mountingheight ratio of up to 8:1, whilstcontrolling excessive glare.

The frame assembly shall be held to thebody by four stainless steel M6 Allen head captive screwslocated outside the sealed lampcompartment.

A high-purity, single-piece, die-formed aluminium reflector shall be mounted on the reflector backplate.An internal eyelid shall be available as an option when the luminaire ismounted in a vertical positionagainst buildings, providing effective perimeter lighting.

The control gear shall be mounteddirectly onto the body to provide optimum heat dissipation. It shall be suitable for operation withthe specified rating of the lampon a 230V +3%/-10% 50Hzsingle phase system.All internal wiring shall be Teflon® coated with protective sleeving toprevent damage by possibleabrasion.

All external screws, bolts andmetal parts shall be stainless steel or non-corrosive material.Ignitors, where applicable, shall be ofthe superposed pulse type.

The luminaire shall be power factorcorrected to a minimum of 0,9.
