Bio for Naeemah Johnson, Celebrity Hair Stylist and Make-up Artist
Naeemah didn't always know that she wanted to do hair as a young child. She was more interested in what the dolls where wearing then what their hair looked like. While attending Dobbins High School in Philadelphia, Naeemah took several service-based courses like baking, restaurant management, fashion design, and cosmetology. The thrill of fashion design quickly blew over when she couldn't sew a pincushion. Baking and restaurant management didn't suit her either. After taking the theory course on cosmetology she quickly became interested in the components of hair.
That interest has now grown into a full-blown passion and Naeemah has blossomed to become a multi-faceted stylist and entrepreneur. Her skills as a stylist and businesswoman have been in demand among notable professionals in the hair and entertainment industries. After organizing her own successful hair shows and events, she has collaborated with Outré and Detroit's own "Cool C" to bring Philadelphia one of its most exciting showdowns, "The American Hair Battle".
Since earning her license at the age of 17, her work has been seen in Essence Magazine, Hype Hair Magazine, Ultimate Weaves and Extensions, Black Passion, Mazza Hair, Salon Profiles, Suede Magazine, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
She has also been instrumental in creating attention grabbing looks for the ad campaigns of two major hair companies, Outré and Isis. She has styled on music videos for Amerie, Deelishes, Peedi Peedi( a.k.a Peedi Crakk), and the internationally acclaimed African singing sensation Floxy Bee. She has also styled cast members Bucky, Satharyi, and Buckwild from VH1's the "Flavor of Love",and Grammy nominated artist Chrisette Michelle,and J records recording artist Jaszmine Sullivan.
Naeemah has won and placed in the top of several hair shows, with her innovative and highly artistic stage shows garnering her several awards, including the vastly coveted Gold Scissors Award.
Naeemah specializes in high end hair bonding techniques such as lace front and fusion weaves. She also is known for her coloring techniques and expertise in the area of natural hair care.
When she is not creating unique trends for entertainers and her own clientele, she manages her mother’s salon in the metro Philadelphia area, Celebrity Hair Studio and second division salon, Celebrity Faces. She has also hosted her own talk radio show called, The Nbeauty Hour, the Pennsylvania tri-state area’s only radio show dedicated to the world of hair, fashion, make-up, and entertainment on Philadelphia’s WURD 900AM.
