Hi All, I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on our weekend....enjoy..

What is IHRA Summit Team Finals? “The best of the best in IHRA ET bracket racing will come from tracks in each division to compete at the Summit Team Finals presented By Sunoco. Racers from each track form a team and they take on all the tracks competing in their division. The team with the most points has bragging rights until next year...but everyone has a great time!”

The event was for the best racers from 17 tracks in our division, IHRA Division 3 NorthStars, Canada and N.E. USA.

In all, there were about 800 cars to race-off this weekend.

The first 2 days, the weather was very wet, cold and windy. Sunday's weather was beautiful, hi 50's, low 60's lots of sun.

Friday, Allison won the first round of the Gamblers Race (pre-money race). She beat a driver that we are familiar with. Heis a regular racer at NYIRP and Lancaster, and is racing forNYIRP in the Team Finals race. Heis one of the top drivers in our area. The rest of that event was rained out, however Allison got 1st round win money for that race.

Saturday was the start of the main event, IHRA Team Bracket Racing Finals. Allison and her crew chief entered the Modified ET Class. We didn't race 1st round until about 9:30 pm because of the bad weather. Allison beat a driver from the home track (Norwalk Raceway Park, the eventual event winner). At the completion of that round, Lancaster was still a top contender in the point race.

Sunday, Day 2 of Team Bracket Racing Finals. Allison won second round by beating a competitor from the Dragway 42 Team. This track was in the lead after the first day of racing. At this point, all the Lancaster drivers from Street and Modified classes are out except for Allison. In all there were 9 racers left from Lancaster Motorsports Park, with Allison being one of them.

Sunday continued with the rest of the elimination's. Allison had to race a car that was 5 seconds faster. At this point in the event the drivers do not make mistakes. This race was no different to Allison's demise, she made a mistake and he didn't. The driver that beat her in this round eventually made it down to the top 7 cars. Allison received win money for making it to the 3rd round of the competition.

The only Lancaster drivers that made it past 3rd round were 1 motorcycle, 1 jr. dragster and 3 super pro cars (dragsters) - the rest of Lancaster was out.

The team finished in 10th position for the weekend, but we did win “The Team Spirit Award”.

Allison had a great, weekend. She won roundsin a very..very..difficult class. She won some money, and got a ton of experience and respect.
