HHS PTSA AFTER PROM - INFORMATION

HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA

MAY 20-21, 2016

GENERAL

·  After prom will begin immediately following Prom on Friday, May 20, beginning at 11:30 am until 5:00 am on May 21st.

·  The After Prom Event will be held at HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA.

·  After prom is for ALL Junior and Senior students of HHS. HHS Sophomores and Freshmen and non-HHS students are not allowed to attend After Prom unless they attend PROM as the guest of a Junior or Senior. All non- HHS students must be approved by the HHS Administration.

·  HHS Juniors and Seniors are not required to attend the prom in order to attend After Prom.

·  NO VISITORS! Strict enforcement of the guest list and volunteer list will be maintained for the duration of the event.

·  Funds for this event come from ticket sales, parents, community members, and supporting businesses of HHS.

·  All bags and coats/clothing will be checked in to the designated area which will be supervised for the duration of the event. Students may request permission to access bags at any time, but will not be permitted to REMOVE bags from the coat check area once secured. All bags are subject to search at the discretion of the HHS PTSA.

·  Students will be provided an area to change from prom attire if they so choose, but all clothing items and bags must be checked in at the designated coat/bag check area immediately after changing.

·  Howard County Police, HHS Security Personnel and volunteer security will be on duty at all times

·  Students must exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. No possession or use of Alcohol, Drugs or tobacco products will be tolerated at any time. Any violations involving criminal behavior will be handled in accordance with the police jurisdiction where the event occurs. Consequences for violations of appropriate behavior (as defined by HCPSS Secondary Student Handbook, Article X (civility) and Article XI.B. (possession of Alcohol, and other drugs) and these rules as listed, will be at the discretion of the PTSA and could include expulsion from this event and being banned from all future After Prom events. Parents will be called for any student violating these rules.

TRANSPORTATION

·  BUS TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA WILL BE PROVIDED AND IS MANDATORY FOR ATTENDANCE AT AFTER PROM.

·  BUSES WILL DEPART FROM HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL STARTING AT 11:15 PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 20 AND WILL CONTINUE TO DEPART EVERY 15 MINUTES UNTIL 12:15 AM ON SATURDAY, MAY 21.

·  NO STUDENT MAY ATTEND AFTER PROM IF THEY DO NOT ARRIVE AT HOYT'S CINEMA ON THE BUS.

·  TICKET PRICE INCLUDES THIS TRANSPORATION.

·  BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL DEPART HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA AT 5:00 AM TO RETURN TO HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL.

·  IF YOUR CHILD MUST LEAVE THE EVENT PRIOR TO 5:00 AM - YOU, OR AN ANOTHER ADULT DESIGNATED BY YOU, MUST BE PRESENT TO SIGN OUT AND PICK UP YOUR CHILD FROM HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA.

·  IF YOUR CHILD REQUESTS PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE EVENT AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO 5:00 AM - YOU WILL BE CALLED.

·  NO ONE WILL BE READMITTED IF THEY LEAVE THE EVENT.


ENTERTAINMENT & FOOD

·  Food will be served throughout the event, free of charge, ending at 5:00 am. No food or drinks may be brought into the event from outside. Please note that some food items served may contain or have been processed in a facility with peanuts.

·  Entertainment will continue throughout the evening, free of charge, and will include games, photo booth, magician, movies and other events.

·  Prizes will be given away at the end of the evening. Students must be present to win prizes.

TICKETS

·  To purchase a ticket, each and every attendee must submit a Permission Form signed by a parent.

·  Guests who no longer attend high school and are 18 years of age or older may sign for themselves.

·  All Juniors and Seniors are responsible for submitting paperwork to HHS Administration for their Non-HHS invited guest. No ticket will be sold for a guest who has not been approved by HHS Administration

·  THE PRICE OF ADMISSION INCLUDES MANDATORY BUS TRANSPORTATION FROM HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL TO HOYT'S WEST NURSERY CINEMA - WITH RETURN TRANSPORATION TO HOWARD HIGH THE NEXT MORNING. ALL STUDENTS AND THEIR GUESTS MUST RIDE THE BUS TO ATTEND AFTER PROM. NO EXCEPTIONS!

·  Tickets will be sold during all lunch shifts at HHS on each school day beginning Monday, May 16 and ending on Thursday, May 19th. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 1:30 PM ON THURSDAY MAY 19. NO EXECEPTIONS! NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

·  Tickets will cost $15.00 each. Checks should be made payable to: HHS PTSA. Note: Checks returned for insufficient funds will be subject to a $35 bank fee.

·  ANY STUDENT WITH OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS TO HHS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE A TICKET UNTIL THOSE FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS ARE CLEARED

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

·  Doors will open at 11:30 pm, May 20th and will be closed to admission when the last bus arrives from HHS. NO EXCEPTIONS.

·  ALL STUDENTS MUST RIDE THE BUSES PROVIDED WHICH WILL LEAVE FROM HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL

·  There is a sign-in procedure where IDs are checked, all students must present:

o  PHOTO ID (SCHOOL ID OR DRIVERS LICENSE),

o  AFTER PROM TICKET

o  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VALID ID YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

·  Any person suspected of drinking or using drugs will NOT be admitted. All attendees will also be subject to school rules.

·  If a student leaves the event they will not be allowed to re-enter!

·  If a registered student and/or guest does not arrive ON THE LAST BUS LEAVING FROM HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL by 12:15 a.m., a courtesy call will be made to that student’s parent.

·  If a student wishes to leave at any time before 5:00 am, a parent/legal guardian/adult designee MUST BE present to sign out their child. NO EXCEPTIONS. Parents may designate another authorized adult to pick up their child by filling out the bottom section of the Permission Form.

·  STUDENTS/PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE BUS SHUTTLES.
