Page 4- The measure imposes new state taxes on growing and selling BOTH medical and non medical marijuana

Further, after legalization in Colorado, marijuana-involved fatal crashes increased 34 percent. Currently, California averages over 300 fatal crashes a year due to marijuana-impaired driving. According to these statistics, if Proposition 64 passes, fatal crashes involving marijuana could go from 300 to 600 every year...Proposition 64 allows for marijuana growing and production near schools and parks. A careful read of the measure reveals it actually forbids local governments from banning indoor residential growing of marijuana — even next door to elementary schools — provided the crop is limited to six plants (providing approximately eight people with enough marijuana everyday for a year). Hey guys put feel free to put your arguments under each category!

Pathos: Marijuana abuse, poverty level statistics, I’ll tell a story for pathos, tug the heart strings with this people.

Advertisement on channels that teenagers and kids watch, increase in the number of individuals seeking publicly funded substance use treatment, communities with minorities will be hit the hardest.

The two physicians whose licenses have been yanked are accused of improperly certifying that thousands of patients were eligible to receive medical marijuana. In the second case, regulators suggest the doctor — described as the state’s third-highest provider of medical marijuana certificates — may have imperiled the health of pregnant women.

Ethos: Minor susceptibility to drugs, marijuana as an introduction to stronger drugs, don't necessarily fear monger with this but make the jury feel as if it's a threat.

Proposition 64 would tax medical marijuana, raising the cost of a prescription medication many need in order to combat illnesses.

Logos: Criminal statistics, marijuana and driving, negative effects on society, hit them with hard facts on this, more critical pieces of evidence than usual.

Research clearly shows that marijuana has the potential to cause problems in daily life. A study of 129 college students found that, among those who smoked the drug at least 27 of the 30 days before being surveyed, critical skills related to attention, memory, and learning were seriously diminished. A study of postal workers found that employees who tested positive for marijuana had 55% more accidents, 85% more injuries and a 75% increase in being absent from work. Marijuana can harm a person’s memory—and this impact can last for days or weeks after the immediate effects of the drug wear off. In one study, a group of heavy marijuana users was asked to recall words from a list. Their ability to correctly remember the words did not return to normal until as long as four weeks after they stopped smoking.(39) )
