REPORTS TOCurriculum Manager learning Development

OVERALL PURPOSEThe main area of work will be to provide support to learners with physical and/or learning needs within small groups or individually whilst running the Little Gems shop as part of lunch cover.

1Main Duties:

1.1To carry out the duties of a LSA, supporting learners on individual/small group programmes agreed with the course leader or Curriculum Manager within the Little Gems shop.

1.2To provide general guidance and support to learners with physical/learning difficulties.

1.3To assist with preparation of learning support documentation/work books and materials in relation to work experience in the shop,

1.4To carry out administration duties related to this role, to include keeping a record of income and expenditure and stock taking with support for the shop managers

1.5 To assist with activities related to the promotion of the Little Gems shop as and when required

2.Additional Duties

2.1To undertake additional duties as required.

2.2To take part in approved staff development as part of the College’s Staff Development Programme. It is mandatory for employees to complete ‘Safeguarding Young People & Vulnerable Adults’ training after which you will receive a ‘license’ which is renewable currently every 3 years.

2.3To ensure that the College Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and safe working practices are observed by themselves and others (including students) for whom they are responsible.

2.4You may be required to act as mentor and/or appraiser in the College schemes.

2.5You may be required to become qualified as a College First Aider. If so, appropriate training and release from normal duties will be given.
