Additional Praise Item

Here is love, vast as the ocean,

Lovingkindness as the flood,

When the Prince of Life, our Ransom,

Shed for us His precious blood.

Who His love will not remember?

Who can cease to sing His praise?

He can never be forgotten,

Throughout Heav’n’s eternal days.

On the mount of crucifixion,

Fountains opened deep and wide;

Through the floodgates of God’s mercy

Flowed a vast and gracious tide.

Grace and love, like mighty rivers,

Poured incessant from above,

And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice

Kissed a guilty world in love.

God calls us to delight in Christ and to share His Hope.

Sunday 5th December 2010

But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.Galatians 4:4-5

Led by God, we join together in joyful and reverent worship, seeking unity and maturity in Christ, preparing every believer to share and show God’s Hope as revealed in His Word.

Please take care in the icy conditions and only travel if it is safe to do so. The minibus may be unable to function during periods of heavy snow. Our evening and weeknight meetings may be cancelled in the event of poor road conditions or heavy snow. Check the website (home page) for any such announcement.

Worship: The Kirk Session recently discussed the finding of the General Assembly on the Public Worship of the Free Church. Our elders unanimously agreed to accept the finding of the General Assembly and allow greater liberty in our local church practice. We will continue to give predominance to Psalms and scripture songs in our worship. As appropriate we will add to our traditional practice the use of suitable hymns and spiritual songs. The Session also agreed to permit the use of musical instruments to help congregational praise when this was appropriate and to give some greater variety to our praise. We expect changes to be introduced gradually and we hope that all will be blessed as we seek to conserve the best of our traditional practice along with the best available additional materials to supplement our worship. Hymns selected for use will be chosen to express Biblical truth in agreement with the doctrines summarised in our church’s Confession of Faith. We pray that God may have all the glory.
