Here is an explanation of the icons used in this unit.

/ Write a response or responses as part of an activity. An answer is provided so that you can check your progress.
/ Check your response for the activity.
/ Think about it!
Think about information or ideas. You need to pause and reflect. You may need to make notes.
/ This icon means you need to go to the Exercise booklet to complete an exercise and return to your teacher for marking.
/ Think about a question or problem then work through the answer or solution provided.
/ You may need to refer to supplementary material not included in this booklet. Check your package for additional materials.
/ Read a text for a particular purpose.
/ Access the Internet to complete a task or to look at suggested websites; this includes using Moodle. If you do not have access to the Internet, or have problems logging onto Moodle, contact the school and ask for 'technology support' for advice.
/ Record an electronic sound file (for email, USB or CD-ROM). Ensure you save your file as an .mp4, .wav or .mov.
/ Listen to an audio recording on file or CD.
/ Speak or perform aloud.
/ Listen to a recording and speak or perform with it.
/ Take a photograph or record a movie.
/ Represent information or ideas as pictures or create a visual composition of some kind.
