Our High School Students

As we all know the school year is coming to a close, I know that all of our youth are very happy for summer to be arriving. I thought that this week I would spotlight our high school students. I asked the high school students for their accomplishments from this last year. I also asked our two graduating seniors for some of their accomplishments over the past four years. They should be very proud of their accomplishments. Congratulations for making another year through school.

Graduating from Gar-Field High School, Will be attending North Virginia Community College in Woodbridge, VA Presidents Award for Educational Excellence National Honors Society last three years Educational Excellence, Scholar Athletic Award Academic Achievement Award from Virginia High School League Academic Excellence Award from Virginia High School League Varsity Letter Award for Football, Rising Star Award, Academic Honor Award Excellence Award in Programming, Excellence Award in Tech Ed

Graduating from Brooke Point High School, Will be attending Lenoir Community College in Kinston, NC A/B Honor Roll, Vice President of FCCLA Lettered in Varsity Cheerleading (4years) Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Team (Senior Year) Athletic Award Coaches Choice for (2010-12) Universal Cheerleading Association Representing Northern Virginia.

Arayah will be a Sophomore at Hylton High School. A/B Honor Roll, Junior Varsity Cheerleader, Made a 592 on Algebra 1 SOL, Made a 523 on Pre AP Biology SOL, Made a 405 on Pre-AP World History SOL, Was baptized March 1, 2012

New:

v  Betty Caples will be having some tests, trying to find out what is causing her some problems. She recently spent the day at the ER but is home now.

v  Ernie’s mom is in the hospital with an infection which the doctors are treating with heavy antibiotics.

v  Marshal Maiwald broke his left collar bone this week. No surgery will be required but it will take 6 weeks to heal.

Update:

Linda and Lenny Skutnik’s new grandbaby, Alison, is

home from the hospital and thriving. It was a scare for

all but Alison is doing well now.
