HELP BRIGHTEN UP A CHICAGO SCHOOL

This year the Community Relations Committee of the Chicago Paint & Coatings Association will host our 20th Annual “Paint a Brighter Chicago” project on Saturday, August 13th. This project is designed to brighten the environment for schools in great need in the Chicagoland area. This year we partnered with Bright Promise Fund to select two schools which our organization feels can greatly benefit from our volunteer services: Humboldt Community Christian School and Salem Christian School.

Bright Promise Fund currently has six member schools and three affiliate schools in a variety of neighborhoods in downtown Chicago. Their mission is to strengthen and sustain partner Christian schools by generating new sources of revenue so that more families may experience and benefit from urban Christian education. They are looking to us for gifts of labor and paint supplies to better the environment of schools that do their best to make a quality Christian education affordable in urban areas of Chicago.

The cohort of schools that are members of Bright Promise Fund are open to children of all backgrounds and ensure that they provide opportunity to children from families of all income levels by scaling their tuition based on need—wealthier families know and understand that their higher tuition is going to give children from low-income families the opportunity to have the same great education. From touring several of these schools in March, we have seen first-hand the children’s desire to learn, the faculty’s passion for teaching, the vast ethnic backgrounds of the students, and the cultural inclusion of the curriculum. We have also observed the difference that we as an organization could make by offering our services to these urban schools whose budgets are just too tight to hire out painting and repairs. Humbolt and Salem are two of the schools that exhibited these needs, and we feel that with the number of volunteers that the Community Relations Committee has been able to draw in the past, we can make an impact on both schools.

We are asking you to be a part of this 20th annual “Paint a Brighter Chicago”. Our committee will provide paint, supplies and volunteers who will paint several areas of the schools. The Chicago Paint & Coatings Association is committed to this project and we are looking to our member companies to help us reach our goal. In order to make this project a success, the Community Relations Committee of the Chicago Paint & Coatings Association are asking for your support in the form of a monetary donation. Humbolt Community Christian School, Salem Christian School, the Community Relations Committee and Chicago Paint & Coatings Association would greatly appreciate your generosity through either a personal or company contribution. To make a donation, please complete the form attached to this sheet and email it to by July 1, 2016. If we receive your donation by the deadline, we will gladly add your name to the back of this year’s t-shirt as a sponsor!

We would love to see you there! If you, your friends, your family (anyone 15 and older) or members of your company would like to donate time for this great project, please sign our volunteer list or email or by July 1, 2016. It is a fun day and a rewarding way to contribute to the community!

Thank you very much for your support of our Association and the wonderful work that this Association does to “Paint a Brighter Chicago”.

Sincerely,

Kayla Eyer & Kathryn Felgenhauer
