Hello, Residents of Northwest Wisconsin!

Did you know that something really big will soon be happening in one of your neighboring counties? Barron County’s Farm Technology Days will be held at Alex and Mary Olson’s Breezy Hill Dairy, near Dallas, on July 9th, 10th, and 11th. Barron County hasn’t hosted this event since 1987. Many people don’t know about this extravaganza yet; others think that it’s just for farmers and agribusiness folks. Yes, farmers and agribusiness men and women will be very interested in the field demos, the amazing vehicles, equipment, supplies, buildings, and pieces of machinery that will be on display, and the newest technology that is currently being used in agriculture. But……you need to know….THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU---FOR YOUR FAMILY, FOR YOUR FRIENDS, FOR YOUR RELATIVES, AND FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS! Make arrangements to be there! A $5.00/person admission fee---WITH NO PARKING FEE---gets you into the show grounds. Children 12 and under are FREE! Trams will transport you from the parking lots to the show gates. Totally amazing!

You can easily spend a whole day at the show. The youth area alone features a great line-up of exhibitors and presenters who will entertain and educate you and your family. Your visit to Farm Tech Day’s Youth Adventureland will include: a petting zoo; llamas; baby chicks, bunnies, and honeybees; dairy, beef, sheep, dog, karate, K-9, Jaws of Life, fire extinguisher, electric safety, and jump roping demonstrations; drama productions by the Country Siders and Baronett Dragons 4-H Clubs; music by “Mood Swing” and Anna Haugen; presentations by Trevor Hoff, a 21 year-old survivor of a childhood tractor roll-over;a video featuring the births of many animals; books and stories from the Barron Public Library; a Safari Club display of stuffed animals from six continents;facts about Christmas trees, turkeys, and agriculture in Wisconsin; great hands-on science experiments;opportunities to practice your fishing skills and learn about walleyes and fish habitats; healthy living, careers in healthcare, veterinary science, and tractor safety exhibits; and lots of fun to be had with scooters, stilts, pogo sticks, mop ponies, veggie races, bows and arrows, and rubber band guns! And there’s more! How about Wednesday afternoon’s sanctioned River Valley Pedal Pull for kids 4 – 12? Did I mention goodies, hats, face painting, and daily prize drawings for the kids? And all this at no cost for kids 12 and under!

When you’re exhausted and funned-out, and you need a place to sit and rest, there will be a shaded park area with lots of fun-in-the-sun and farm toys for your kiddos to play with. News Flash! The youth area is just a few short feet from one of the large food tents, where you’ll be able to treat yourself to some of Barron County’s finest cinnamon rolls, bison burgers, Louie’s finest meats, frozen custard, and other treats. When you’re rested and ready to go again, you’ll want to check out all the happenings in the Family Living Tent and the many, many interesting agricultural exhibits and demonstrations you’ll find throughout the show grounds!

Come and stay for the day! You won’t be disappointed! Barron County’s Farm Technology Days 2013 will prove to be one of your best summer outings this year. It’s close, it’s affordable, it’s amazing, and it’s in your own backyard. Check-out the website at updated daily schedules and information. Help spread the word that BARRON COUNTY’S 2013 FARM TECH DAYS IS FOR EVERYONE! Bring a carload! See you at the show!
