Hello Players & Parents!!!
Thank you for being patient with me as I received final practice information over the weekend.
I welcome back some of you from winter and I am excited to get to know everyone! We will be holding a parent/player/coach meeting on a later date.I would like at least one parent to be at the meeting and of course the player. One main reason for this meeting is so I can put a face with the name and answer any questions you may have before the season gets into full swing. Below is my intro to you and my guidelines for coaching.
I am very thrilled to be coaching 13 Midnight this spring and would like to let you know a little about myself.I am from Fargo,ND. I am a freshman and NDSU, hopefully studying marketing. I graduated from Fargo North High School in 2017. For my other job, I sell apartments for Craig Properties and I love every minute of it. I started playing volleyball when I was in 5th grade and still play. I started coaching volleyball when I was a junior in high school and haven't stopped! This is my second year with RRIV. I also did coach the 4th-5th grade volleyball program with the Fargo Park District for about 2 years. It is a great joy for me to see the girls I had in the Parks program join the RRIV program because I can see how much their skills have improved over the years!

It is very important that if you know you will not be able to attend a practice/tournament to let me know because that will change the coaching strategy. I do expect players to let me know before practice if they are not going to be making it including a reason why they will not be making it. I have attached a form that explains playing time based on missed practices and I will try to stick to this the best I can knowing that I will have to make exceptions if it involves multiple players. I have also attached a parents letter that I ask you read and follow throughout the season. We need to remember this program is for the girls and we want to support them the best that we can. There is also a form with questions about your daughter for the parents to fill out and a player questionnaire for the player to fill out. Please bring these to practice or the parent meeting. These are only seen by me, but it is meant to help me coach to the best of my abilities. If I don't know about something I can't accommodate for it.
As of right now I don’t think we have a parent rep!!! If anyone would like to help with this task it would be greatly appreciated. This is a very easy job I promise. Essentially you are the go to person for parents with questions about planning things for the players. In the past parent reps have set up team dinners or other gatherings for the girls. They have made pins, rosters, etc for other parents. As the girls come together on a team it is nice when the parents do the same because it makes our support system that much better.
I have attached rules and philosophies for you to follow throughout the season. Please adhere by them and if you have any questions on them please ask.
OFFICIATING CERTIFICATES: Each player is required to take an officiating clinic and know all areas of officiating as they will be at each job sometime throughout the season. There is a link on the RRIV site regarding how to complete this. It must be completed before our first tournament.
