PTO Facebook Page!

Jacob Wismer PTO now has a Facebook page! This is another great place for those of you on Facebook to check out our upcoming events and activities and stay connected with our PTO! Our annual Jogathon fund raiser is this week! Please visit and 'like' this page to help spread the word about Jogathon and other exciting PTO activities:

Jogathon

The Jogathon is this Friday, October 6th!! Please make sure your student comes to school with good shoes for running and a water bottle. We need MANY volunteers to make Jogathon go smoothly. Art Literacy

It is the Art of Disney theme this time! The training for volunteers has taken place with an amazing showing of wonderful parent- volunteers. We have a few classrooms without an assigned presenter. If you wish to present to your child's classroom, and did not have a chance to participate in the training, please contact Natalie () or Melody ()ASAP. Oregon Battle Of Books

OBOB registration is coming! Please watch for information to come home with your student (grades 3-5)after their library classes in the next two weeks. If they are interested in joining OBOB this year, they can choose to bring home the packet with lots of info for them and for you. Hope to see many great JW readers joining this fun competition! JuniorGreatBooks

Training forJuniorGreatBookswill take place in the staff roomOctober 10th(Tuesday) from8:45-9:45amby Lauren Mauery.Come learn about the program's terrific curriculum, enjoy some snacks, and get inspired with other parent volunteers!There will also be a short tour of the location of thebooksfor each grade level.If you have additional questions, please contact Lauren . Beaverton Clothes Closet

Has your child lost a lunch box, their jacket or water bottle? Please come by and check the lost and found table that will be set up by the main office during the parent teacher conference. The items that are not collected by the end of the month will be donated to the Beaverton clothes clothes closet!

We are still looking for volunteers to staff the Beaverton clothes closet on Jacob Wismer’s day onOctober 11. The shifts are 9:30-12, 12-2 and 2-4. Your job will be to assist members of the community in finding clothing items that are needed, and sorting and organizing clothing that has been donated. It is a very busy volunteer opportunity that is also very fun and rewarding! For more information, please .

Picture Day

Vision Screening

Vision Screening will take place onFriday, October 27thfor all students. In addition to the Oregon Lions Sight Foundation volunteers, we do need our own Jacob Wismer volunteers to keep the screenings moving along efficiently. Book Fair

The Scholastic Winter Book Fair will be onDec. 11-13. We will need help setting up onDec. 8, shifts during the fair, and packing up after1:00onDecember 13.Please contact Valerie or more information.

Background Checks

A reminder that ALL volunteers must first complete the requiredDistrict Volunteer Application and Background Checkto be eligible to volunteer at Jacob Wismer.
