The Mason-Capital Area Prescription Drug Task Force is seeking help from Students in the Capital Area to create marketing and design products that support the Task Force’soutreach and prevention goals in 3 different categories.
The mission of the Task Force is toraise awareness of ourcountry’s fastest growing narcotic problem, prescription drug abuse.The media selected will increase awareness about the rising problem of prescription drug misuse and abuse, how to prevent prescription drug abuse and what communities can do to reduce problems caused by prescription drug misuse.
The media competition runs from Friday, January 31, 2014 through Friday, March 14, 2014 by noon. Further conditions and resources related will be posted at

30 second PSA video, First Page of a Website or Poster and Logo
(Each category will have 1 winner announced and will receive either an iPad Air, iPad Mini or iPod Touch or an equivalent cash value.)
Entry Conditions:
- Media Products being submitted must be original and created between January 31, 2014 and March 14, 2014
- All entries must be about prescription drug abuse, misuse, how to prevent prescription drug abuse or what communities can do to reduce the problems caused by prescription drug misuse
- All products must contain the phrase “Mason-Capital Area Prescription Drug Task Force” and be focused on the Target Audience selected by the participant
- Any entry that contains false information, negative messages or profanity will be disqualified
- Cooperative submissions are the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian of the Student submitting the design
- All entries are required to fill out each section of the submission form. Contestants who fail to fill out the form in its entirety will be disqualified
- All products become the property of the Mason-Capital Area Prescription Drug Task Force upon submission
- Winners will be based on points allocated for local theme, positive behavior change message and accuracy of facts from sources listed in the linked websites
- Each winning Student and Parent/Guardian of Student listed will be required to sign a release of design for use by the Mason-Capital Area Prescription Drug Task Force in exchange for award to be received

Video Production and Website Production:
- Contestants must send a completed Submission Form and an attachment of either the Video Link (YouTube) or Website Link with Subject Line:“Capital Area Media Contest” to Mason High School Vice Principal, Mr. Nicholas Toodzio at by the deadline of March 14, 2014 at noon
Poster & Logo Production:
- Contestants must deliver posters to Mason High School, 1001 South Barnes Street, Mason, MI 48854, with a completed Submission Form attached, by the deadline of March 14, 2014 at noon
1 Winner from each Category will be selected on March 24, 2014
Video Production: A 30-second PSA
1 Winner will receive an iPad Air 16 gig OR $500 cash value
Website Production: Front-Page Design
1 Winner will receive an iPad Mini 16 gig OR $300 cash value
Poster & Logo Production: One Poster including Logo
1 Winner will receive an iPod Touch OR $230 cash value
