Activities of the New Professionals and New Members Forum
  • Created contact list of National and Regional forum leaders as well as State leaders and committee representatives. Posted on NPNMF Online Member Community.
  • Chair conducted one-on-one orientation phone calls for our eight incoming regional communication coordinators (CCs). CCs held similar calls with state representatives.
  • Held monthly conference calls
  • Promotion of and participation in ASCLS lapsed member campaign
  • Weekly cycle of posts on NPNMF Facebook grouppage:
-Maintenance Monday – CE opportunities
-Fast Track Friday – Career advancement tips and career paths
-Spotlight Saturday – Highlighting accomplishments of our new professionals and new members and offering fun topics like blogs, videos, news articles, and books
  • Submitted four articles for ASCLS Today
  • Published four issues of our refreshed NPNMF e-newsletter, “The Culture”
  • Provided one $500 travel scholarship to Legislative Symposium
  • Had successful puzzle room and dinner event with SF during Legislative Symposium
  • Lab Week Run (LWR) 2017– created partnership with Student Forum in LWR, sold out before MLPW - 1,000 race packets compared to 500 in first year, offered group rates for students and professionals plus student discount, obtained company sponsorships, LWR t-shirt sold, awarded prizes for contests, approximately $15,000 in profits, developing LWR SOPs, considering distributer for 2018 LWR with continued growth
  • Provided two $1,500 NPNM travel scholarships to Annual Meeting through profits from LWR, planning to offer both NPNM and student scholarships for 2018 Leg. Symposium
  • Continued weekly Facebook posts on topics including CE opportunities, career tips, member spotlights, and interesting books, videos, and articles
  • CCs encouraged state reps to help identify incoming 2017-18 NPNM reps and mentor them into their roles. Utilized a Google Drive directory to have CCs easily share with State Presidents to complete
  • Filled all NPNMF volunteer opportunities on ASCLS committees for 2017-18
  • Will send out NPNM membership survey to establish goals and charges for next year
  • Revising NPNMF Quick Guide for start of 2017-18
  • Planning Annual Meeting events - orientation/business meetings and social events
