Regarding: Jessica Peacock and Belinda Huff win Junior Olympic Gold
Ex Heathfield HS students win Junior Olympic Gold Medal
Ex Heathfield HS students Jessica Peacock and Belinda Huff recently represented Australia in the Sydney Junior Olympics. Jess and Belinda were 2 of only 12 players selected across Australia to represent their country at this international tournament. The girls had to overpower and out play some very strong opposition to win the Gold medal including Taiwan, New Zealand and one of the worlds top ranked volleyball countries, China. Australian junior volleyball teams are starting to make their mark on the international scene and the Heathfield HS volleyball program has played an important role in developing world class athletes.
Jessica’s success at this level has led to a professional contract in Holland and Belinda is one of the elite athletes in the National Beach Volleyball program based in Adelaide. Belinda also won the Under 23 Women’s beach volleyball gold medal with partner Olivia Orchard just after Christmas at the National Beach Volleyball Titles held at Glenelg in December.

Other Heathfield volleyball players who also performed well at the National Beach Volleyball Titles where senior students Jo Healy, Under 19 Women’s silver medallist and Mark Neilsen, Under 19 Men’s silver medallist.
Jo Healy and her partner Becchara Palmer had a win over Australian Beach Volleyball legend, Pauline Manser at the recent tournament in Surfers Paradise. It was also announced in Surfers that Belinda Huff and her partner Olivia Orchard finished 3rd overall in the Vodafone Australian Beach Volleyball Tour.
International Student visits Heathfield
Welcome to Christine Weinkoppf who is a National Beach Volleyball player in Austria and is out here in Australia for 6 months on an exchange at Heathfield HS. She has joined the SASI program during her time here.
