“Let’s Go!”
February 10, 2017
Dale & Jeannie Daly
This CRA Moment is coming to you a might early, as next week Jeannie and I will be out of the office. This is the third Moment dealing with the word “TRUST”. Psalm 18:2 reads, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust.”
T-R-U-S-T = Truly, Resting, Under, Secure, Truth!
Recently I read a story of a man who was awakened four separate times by phone calls from individuals needing answers they felt that only he could provide. And these calls all came before the sun had even began to appear over the horizon, and certainly before he was even out of bed. Everybody had problems they wanted solved “right now.” After the fourth call he decided he might as well stay up and he told his wife to forget breakfast as he needed to be on his way to the office. It was then he discovered his car wouldn’t start, so the next best thing was to call a taxi. When he got in the taxi he said to the driver, “Let’s go!” The driver asked, “Where do you want me to take you?” He shouted back, “I don’t care, I’ve got problems everywhere!”
Have you ever felt that way? Maybe as if you’ve done all you know to do but the situation you’ve been facing just isn’t improving! If so, Isaiah 50:10 is a good word for this week’s CRA Moment. “Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the Name of the Lord and rely upon his God.” Notice again that word “Name”. The word “name” is from a Greek word ‘onomos’ and it represents “the full authority that exists in the person being named”. Rick Renner wrote in one of his books that “By praying in the name of Jesus, a believer actually stands in the physical place of Jesus Who is in Heaven, acting on His behalf and operating in the authority He has given to a believer as His official representative.”
So when you and I pray for anything in His Name, it means we’re trusting in His power; trusting in His character, and trusting in His faithfulness. Joshua 1:3 in the NIV reads, “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised.” In other words, just step out in faith, TRUST the One who said it would be done; and say as the man did to the taxi driver: “Let’s go!” That’s trust! Remember the hymn many of us once sang: “Standing on the promises that cannot fail; when the howling winds of doubt and fear assail. Standing on the living word I shall prevail; standing on the promises of God.”
Here then is God’s promise to you as it was to Joshua: (1) He’s giving you what He promised you! (2) No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. (3) His promise is, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” I can safely say that not one of all the good promises the Lord God gave you or me has ever failed! Every promise has been fulfilled, or is presently being fulfilled! And the God who came through for Joshua, will come through for you, and, He’ll come through for me! That … you can TRUST!
Blessings,
Psalm 20:7
