SAN DIEGO, April5, 2014 -- The Heartland Coin Club announced today that will hold itsHeartland Spring Coin Show in Santee, CA onSaturday, May 27, 2014. The Coin Show will take place at the Cunnane Social Center at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Santee, CAfrom10:00 a.m. to4:00 p.m.

This coin show is a unique event in which collectible and rare coins are available to the general public. There will more than 30 coin dealers and collectors offering U.S. and Foreign coins, medalsand currency. It will be a Saturday full of fun and opportunity to learn about how to start your own coin collection or have the chance to add new coins to your collection

According to Ken Stempien, President of the Heartland Coin Club “This Coin Show is not just for professional coin collectors but also for anyone interested in starting collecting coins or to learn about coins.”

“During this event”, Kenadds, “we will have Club members available to answer coin related questions and provide advice on a one-to-one basis. Sellers will also be available to appraise your coins at no charge.”

John Weiss, Vice-President and Coin Show Organizer explains “This Coin Show is going to be at the spacious Cunnane Social Center at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church for the second time. The lighting there is perfect for assessing the quality of coins.”

“In addition, we will also be holding a presentation to introduce the general public to coin collecting and explaining how to start collecting coins.” John adds, “For kids,we always hadour ‘Coin for Kids’area and this years is not different. Kids are presented with a coin album to place coins they find in the coin pile. This completely free for kids thanks to the generous donations by the Heartland Club members and local dealers. Kids already colleting coins are encouraged to bring theirown coin albums and look through our coins to add to their collection.”

About the Heartland Coin Club

The Heartland Coin Club was established in 1962, as non-profit organization, by founder and first President, Owen Henry Bela. The Heartland Coin Club has the largest membership of any of the seven San Diego County Inter-Club Numismatic Council Clubs.

The Heartland Coin Club is an active member of the California State Numismatic Association, CSNA, the American Numismatic Association, ANA, and the Numismatic Association of Southern California, NASC, as well as the San Diego County Inter-Club Numismatic Council.

Over these years, many collectors, both young and old, have enjoyed the interesting events that take place at the Heartland Coin Club, such as lectures, show and tell, coin raffle and auctions. The club also conducts two important local Coin Shows throughout the year.

The Heartland Coin Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month, except in February and December, at the City of El Cajon, Bostonia Center, 1049 Bostonia Street in El Cajon.
