New Members

With the addition of a new member, each person introduced themselves. Kathleen Kosmoski distributed and reviewed the by-laws, board member job description, and member responsibilities for the new member.

Old Business

Laura Nottingham and Kathleen Kosmoski reviewed topics of the brainstorming session during the November meeting. Cally D’Angelo is working on developing a Facebook page and will hopefully have a mock layout at the next meeting. A Facebook page should help with awareness and promoting events.

The Board liked the idea of using a postcard to announce events as well. Some people don’t check emails regularly nor open newsletters. In addition to mail outs, it was recommended to utilize the student email system prior to graduation to encourage registering with the Alumni Association. Jeff Mitchell discusses various email tracking systems such as Constant Contact to monitor the effectiveness of the emails. Constant Contact will let the sender monitor who opens the email, views attachments, and replies.

The Board liked the idea of a window cling and membership card with benefits to local businesses. Kathleen will do more research and have information at the next meeting. Also, the Board thought having alumni items in the bookstore would be nice.

New Business

Kathleen Kosmoski announced the 3rd Annual Graduation Gala will be held February 21, 2011 with two sessions. The first session will be held from 11am-2pm and the second from 5pm-6:30pm. Both sessions will be held in the Conference Center. Volunteers are requested to help with the table.

The iGot Campaign will be held March 8, 2011. The campaign is the annual fundraiser for the Foundation. The funds raised help support scholarships, student, faculty, and staff development, equipment purchases, and adult education. Volunteers are needed to visit with local businesses and request their financial support.

The next alumni newsletter will go out the middle of February.

The next meeting will be February 8, 2011 at 6 pm in the Health Science Conference Room.

With no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:05 pm.

Respectfully Submitted

Kathleen Kosmoski
