  • think strategically and identify and critically assess strategic opportunities and threats to Health Consumers Queensland, and develop and monitor the effectiveness of strategies in response

Finance and audit / Ability to:
  • review and analyse Health Consumers Queensland funding arrangements, budget and key financial statements;
  • critically assess Health Consumers Queensland’s financial performance; and
  • contribute to Health Consumers Queensland’s strategic financial planning.

Risk and compliance / Ability to identify key risks to Health Consumers Queensland in a wide range of areas (including WH&S, contractual, IT and intellectual property risk), and monitor risk and compliance management frameworks and systems.
Corporate governance / Knowledge and experience in corporate governance especially in the not-for-profit/charity context and an ability to apply that knowledge and experience to continually improve Health Consumers Queensland’sgovernance.
Legal experience and knowledge / Experience and knowledge of legal matters as they relate to the organisation including contractual and property law.
Executive management, IR and HR / Experience at an executive management level including the ability to evaluate the performance and remuneration of the General Manager and oversee industrial relations and strategic human resource management both within and external to HCQ.
Business networks and experience / Ability to identify and develop business opportunities and relationships of strategic importance to HCQ and assist the organisation in developing strategies to capitalise on those opportunities and relationships.
Strategic marketing / Ability to contribute to the strategic positioning, marketing and branding of HCQ and to assist HCQ in high level strategic communications and public relations.
Industry/sector skills and experience / Knowledge and experience in the industry/sector relevant to HCQ eg. consumer engagement, health system.
