-IN HOUSE SOFTWARE-

  1. DIGIRULE:

FastLOGTM: Log digitizing program, used to digitize paper log copies into ASCII and/or LAS files. This digitized data can then be imported into any of the various programs used in the petroleum industry.

It has the ability to display formation tops, plot in multiple colors for easy viewing, plot at any scale with full header, and includes LOGEDIT.This program, a comprehensive log editor, it can export in up to 22 different formats, including DXF, LAS, and SEG-Y.It quickly and easily allows interactive tops picking, editing of headers and curve data points, TVD corrections and seismic check shot data. The powerful utility Value Conversion allows manipulation of the curves by stretching, shrinking os shifting.

CrossLOGTM: Create precision cross sections, either structural or stratigraphic with complete graphic control of color, line style, text and log appearance. Has the ability to import both scanned log images and digitized vector logs.

GeoCADTM: Professional quality mapping program, this is a powerful mapping system with sophisticated data acquisition and full CAD editing capabilities. Its data import and conversion features allow the integration of public or purchased data, in house digital data, and digitized paper hardcopy to produce detailed base maps. GeoCAD makes it easy to include all of the following data types on your maps: shotpoint locations, interpreted seismic horizon values, well locations, formation tops, contours, culture, leases, faults, etc.

VOLTM: Volumetrics program, powerful software for capturing map data and using it for volumetric reserve calculations. Calculates surface areas, volumes or perimeters at any map scale. Calculates rock volumes using either Pyramidal or Trapezoidal methods.

  1. Knowledge Systems, Inc:

DRILLWORKSPREDICT PROFESSIONAL 2004TM: An integrated family of products that meets all your geopressure and well-bore stability needs. This family includes:

DrillworksPredict, version 10

DrillworksPressbase

Drillworks3D

DrillworksAnaseis

DriollworksSafeSeal

DrillworksGeostress

It is generally accepted that problems related to inaccurate pore pressure and well-bore stability analysis and prediction cost the energy industry billions of dollars each year in stuck pipe, lost wells, damaged formations, increased drilling costs, lost circulation, etc.

With off-shore rig price rates ranging up to $250,000/day, a delay of even a few days to deal with unanticipated well control problems from a pressure related kick adds a substantial amount to the well cost.

With DrillWorksPREDICT 2004TM formation pressures, geo-stress and well-bore stability are easily and accurately determined at three significant phases in the life of an oil or gas well: (1) in the planning stage, (2) in real-time while the well is drilling, and (3) in post-drill analysis reservoir studies.

In the planning phase, drilling cost can be more accurately predicted, and often reduced, by the more accurate prediction of pore pressures and geo-stresses to be encountered, as these factors dictate the major cost components of a well including casing setting depths, hole sizes, number of casing strings, mud programs and hydraulics.

While the well is drilling, pressure related problems such as kicks and stuck pipe can be averted and casing setting depths can be extended to eliminate casing strings by closely monitoring the formation pressures in real-time. Thus improved drilling performance, efficiency and safety are achieved.

Post drilling pore pressure studies can provide a whole new dimension for use in reservoir evaluation.

DrillWorksPREDICTTM is the most used software system in the world today for formation pressure analysis, geo-stress and well-bore stability criteria and the user base includes most of the major oil and gas operator and service companies. The system is being used effectively by drilling engineers, geophysicists, geologists, and petrophysicists to predict pore pressure, fracture gradient and overburden gradient profiles.

The system uses a variety of kinds of data including well logs, seismic, and MWD data. Rather than relying on a single pore pressure model, the system incorporates a variety of models and methods such that the most effective for the specific geologic conditions can be used.

This family of products allows pre-drill analysis that provides Knowledge Based Drilling, thus decreasing Geopressure/Well-bore Stability related problems to avoid trouble and improve drilling success.

The key exploration benefits of DrillworksSafeSeal include the ability to analyze seal integrity, test for commercial accumulations of hydrocarbons, reservoir capacity estimation and improve your commercial discovery success rate. The key drilling benefits of DrillworksSafeSeal include a better understanding of the subsurface hazard environment, achieve a step-change improvement in drilling performance and avoid costly drilling problems.

The key benefits of DrillworksGeostress include creating a geomechanical model fully integrated with a geopressure model, view a visible window of safe mud weights, plan optimum well paths, mud and casing programs, perform real time well-bore stability analysis and minimize surprises and prevent shear failure, fractures and lost circulation.

Drillworks3D allows visualization and understanding the environment and analysis of volumes.

DrillworksAnaseis quickly and easily allows correction of seismic bias of interval velocity performed by 2D or 3D seismic processing for improved geopressure analysis.

S D C GEOLOGIX :

GEOTM: Dreyfields Resources uses Geo (Suite 5, including GeoXsec) as its primary tool for log drawing, at the well site, on a daily basis, and in the office, when constructing composite logs for previously drilled wells. Geo is a very user-friendly program, which has the ability to incorporate mud log data or MWD data at the well site, along with the lithology. Lithology can be presented either in color or black & white, whichever is suits a particular situation. (Black & white logs are generally prepared at the wellsite for smaller files when emailing reports to clients offices.) Log configuration is discussed in detail with the client prior to leaving for the wellsite, so that when logs are sent to the office, the client gets precisely what is wanted.

In addition, Dreyfields Resources has available GeoView, which when installed on the clients’ computer allows him to view and print the logs that are sent daily via email.

Other software used by Dreyfields Resources includes SURFER and ARCVIEW mapping, 3D and GIS products from Golden Software and ERSI Inc, respectively.
