TODAY'S MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES

Spirit Week Special! Buy a yearbook during spirit week and have your name stamped on it for free. Bring cash or check to Mr. Nobblitt in Room 319. Don’t forget that we have payment plans available. Don’t forget, you can purchase online using the link on the high school website. Books purchased online during next week will receive a free name stamp as well.

Monday we will be celebrating National Vegetarian Day. Menu will have cheese pizza, black bean cheese burger, cheese stuffed breadstix. Also the soup on the Salad Bar will be vegetarian chili. As we reach the end of the month a lot of students that was either on free or reduced group the time for reauthorization is now. If you owe money please have your money or you will not be allowed to eat breakfast or lunch. If you need an application please come and pick one up in the cafeteria. Please return it back to the cafeteria immediately.

2016 HOMECOMING – OCTOBER 8, 2016

Tickets will be on sale in the Finance/Attendance Office during the following dates and times:

DISCOUNTED TICKET SALES – $15.00 per ticket

Monday, October 3 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 4 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

REGULAR PRICED TICKET SALES – $20.00 per ticket

Wednesday, October 5 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 6 – before school, during all three lunch shifts, and after school until 3:00 p.m.

Friday, October 7 – before school and during all three lunch shifts (no after-school sales on this date).

If you have completed the Dance Rules and Expectations Form for the 2016-17 school year, you will not be required to complete another form. Otherwise, you must submit a form when you purchase your ticket. Dance Rules and Expectations Forms are available in the Main Office.

Nominations for Homecoming court for all classes are being accepted in the Main Office in the RED box on the counter. Fill out your nomination for the court and put it in the box!!!! All nominations should be done by the end of the day today, October 3rd.

SADD will be holding a meeting after school today from 2:45 to 3 p.m. New members always welcome.

NHS Officers will meet today @ 7 a.m. in room 566.

Attention DECA Members and Eligible DECA Members. The deadline for payment for DECA’s Fall Rally is this Wednesday, October 5th. Please don’t miss this important day at Marriott Ranch. See Mrs. Lynch in room 612 for information and to make payment. Time is running out!

Attention FBLA and DECA members -- the New York trip is on!!! This fantastic opportunity to visit Wall Street, Rockefeller Center and Times Square is open to all members on a first come basis. Space is limited, so don’t delay. See any business or marketing teacher for information. Payment of $275.00 may be made to Mrs. Chipman in room 609.

MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES

National Honor Society members will meet on Wednesday, October 5th @ 2:45 in the old cafeteria.

The ASVAB test will be given on October 4th at 7:45 am (Falcon Room). Please sign up in the guidance department. The ASVAB test will assess your strengths, challenges, and interests to give you guidance as to which careers may be BEST FOR YOU!

Let’s talk swimming! There will be a swim team interest meeting next Thursday, October 6th, at 2:45 in the Falcon Room. If you are unable to make this meeting, please see Ms. Cerra in Guidance.

Any student interested in attending the free Computer Science Day at VCU October 22 may stop by Room 410 to get registration information. Members of the Computer Coding Club who missed last Tuesday’s meeting are asked to stop by Mrs. Violett’s room to pick up club registration information. The next meeting is Tuesday, October 11.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES/MEETINGS

Any athlete planning to play a winter or spring sport and needs an impact concussion test can sign-up for one outside of the training room. All freshmen, juniors and any student new to FHS will need to take ca concussion test. There are seven testing days in October that are first come first serve. Sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Again, sign-up sheets are located outside of the training room.
