TODAY’S MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES
Do you like the sounds of the Caribbean? Always wanted to be in a music group? Anyone interested in joining the FHS Caribbean Steel Pans can come to the Band Room today during A+ to try them out and learn more. No experience necessary! Please note: you must obtain an A+ Pass from Mr. Paul in the Band Room before or after school, or between classes, in order to come on Wednesday. If you can’t make it, just see Mr. Paul.
National Honor Society members will meet today at 2:45 in the old cafeteria.
The Robotics Club will be an idealexperience to any student new to robotics, interested in technology andSTEMconcepts, or even an experienced hobbyist. Students will learn team-building skills in an ever-learning environmentand compete on a world-scale platform, VEX Robotics. An interest meeting will be held at Mr. Newman's room in the annex, room 814, and run from 2:30 to 3:30 where basics will be covered, today.
Join HOSA at Chick-fil-a today from 6am to 9pm. Mention Fauquier HOSA and the proceeds will go to Operation Smile. Thank you for helping us reach our goal.
Need community hours, love to recycle, or just want to give back to the earth? Then join Volunteer Fauquier! The club will have its first meeting this today after school in the library. New members are always welcome!
Attention all first term dual enrollment students: The LFCC Dual Enrollment Request Form is due in the Guidance Office today. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Toothman in the Guidance. Also, during advisory on Wednesday, August 31st, payments and forms will be collected in the Falcon Room. Please report to the Falcon Room (during advisory) to submit the dual enrollment request form along with payment. Students must report to advisory for attendance prior to reporting to the Falcon Room.
The first SAT test of the year is Saturday, October 1. Registration deadline today. You can ask guidance for a fee waiver if you receive free or reduced lunch. If you are applying to college early you should take this test.
There will be an FCCLA meeting today from 2:40 until 4:00 in Mrs. Hale’s room 832 in the Annex. Officers will be nominated and planning for the State Fair being held on September 26, will begin. If you plan to run for an office, please bring a completed officer application. Please stop by and see Mrs. Hale if you would like to be a part of FCCLA and are unable to attend the meeting.
Attention Students: Because many students may be having a hard time seeing their counselor or may have questions, Guidance Counselors will be available in the lunch room next week Tuesday through Friday, during all 3 lunch shifts.
If you are interesting in signing up for stage crew for our fall productions “A Little of Broadway” and “Zombie Prom”. A sign-up sheet is available on the door of Mr. Bale’s room for the next week.

Seniors: If you are working toward an advanced diploma with a “B: Average and will graduate with 15 hours of college credit please come to guidance and fill out the early college scholars agreement. See your counselor if questions.
Anime Club will meet after school on Friday from 2:45-4:00 in room 602 in the Cube. Bring your pencils and sketchbooks for our first Drawing Day of the year!
The Fauquier High School Gay-Straight Alliance is an afterschool club meant for all students who attend our school. If you are interested in working together to make our school a fun and positive place to learn and a pleasant environment to socialize, come join our club. We will meet after school on Wed., Sept. 7 until 3:30 in room 103, Mrs. Hatfield’s room. All students are welcome to attend.
Attention Underclassmen: Victor O’Neill Studios will be here on Sept. 6th and 7th for Yearbook photos for 9th, 10th and 11th grades.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES/MEETINGS
Any athlete who is not currently playing a fall sport and is interested in wrestling this winter season is encouraged to come to preseason workouts Tuesday and Thursdays at 4:30 in the wrestling room.
Girls soccer is having a preseason meeting in the old cafeteriaon Tuesday, September 6 at 2:45. Anyone considering trying out in the spring is highly encouraged to attend.
