Acapella group, not affiliated with the Con. Performs across campus and has been recognized in the past but slipped through the cracks during re-recognition last Spring.
8:20 PM – Recognition Request: Arab Culture Club
Jawad Alweleidat and Mahmoud Shaar
Currently not a group/place on campus that supports Arab culture and there is a lot of interest. The club will serve to explore the Arabic language and contemporary issues in the Arab world and Middle East. The main goals lie with education and awareness, but they also plan to enjoy the culture through food, music, and dance.

8:40 PM – Executive Election Planning
Brainstorming on how to increase participation and promotion of executive elections. Discussion on where to hold debate, polling locations, and advertising.
8:50 PM – LI + CODA Update
Mixer coming up, sponsored by LUCC. They will be working together to bridge gap between international community and domestic community. Will focus on domestic activism and brainstorm ways to increase international representation in CODA.
9:00 PM – Transparency: Steering and Finance
Brainstorming of how to bolster communication between Steering and Finance. Ideas include sending committee agendas to both committees, biweekly meetings between class reps, emailing other reps after respective meetings with meeting highlights.
9:10 PM – Class Rep Outreach
Discussed outreach to campus community at-large. The junior class reps are planning an event to engage with their class by providing food and having open discussion. Will be looking into doing something similar for all classes with help from cabinet.

Statement of Purpose, Constitution, or organizing document: The
purpose of this club is to inform and to expose members of the
Lawrence community to the Arabic language and culture, as well as
issues that Arabs face both within and outside of the United
States. We'll be answering the most commonly asked questions
about Arab culture. As a club we will pursue the preservation,
enrichment, and transmission of knowledge and culture across a
broad scope of academic disciplines.
Mission Statement: Arab Cultural Club's mission is to acquaint
the student body with the rich Arabic culture and heritage and
engage in intercultural dialogue through the promotion of
lectures and cultural events. We seek to become a key club among
the myriad of cultural clubs not just in Lawrence but in the
world.
Student Organization Blurb (50 word limit): We are an Academic,
Educational, and Cultural group in that we provide information
that could be used for anyone that is currently enrolled in any
Arabic Language or Culture course or anyone who is interested in
Arabic culture or language. We also incorporate special interest
in that we want our members to be interested and committed to our
club.
