GUIDELINES FOR UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE ATHLETIC FACILITIES USE

The University of La Verne Athletics and Movement and Sports Science Departments hold administrative responsibility for several on-campus facilities dedicated to intercollegiate athletics, Movement and Sports Science (MSS) Department classes, and recreation. In order to maximize the use of these facilities while not relinquishing some measure of oversight, the following guidelines are necessary. These guidelines provide a priority to activities of the University of La Verne Athletics and Movement and Sports Science Departments as the departments responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of these facilities. The guidelines also allow University of La Verne Athletics Department staff to exercise some additional measure of control over the facilities they use during their primary sports season. Finally, these guidelines provide a service to the larger community by allowing access for recreational activities at designated times. These guidelines cover the use of the on campus facilities only:

Ortmayer Stadium/Arnett Field (football, track and field)

Frantz Court (basketball, volleyball)

Ben Hines Field (soccer, baseball)

Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion Weight Room (1st Floor)

Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion Cardio/Fitness Center (2nd Floor)

Restrictions

Use of the above named facilities is subject to certain restrictions. Lights on Ben Hines Field are only to be turned on with prior approval and subject to a user fee. Lights on Arnett Field are only to be used for fall football practice per City of La Verne agreement. Groups who have not been approved for use of the facilities are subject to removal. Access may be denied to persons who are not University of La Verne students, faculty or staff. Individuals or groups who damage equipment, facilities, or leave the facility in disarray are subject to fines.

  • Ortmayer Stadium track will be open from dusk to dawn Monday through Friday for recreational jogging and running unless classes or intercollegiate practices are in session.
  • Weight Room/Cardio/Fitness Center will be open at various times throughout the day. Please check the website or schedule board outside the center for exact times.
  • Frantz Court will be available upon request. Please see the Cres Gonzalez to schedule open gym time.

Facility Access

In order to use University of La Verne athletic facilities, individuals must be:

  1. Current year ID card holders a)University of La Verne students b)University of La Verne faculty and staff c) LVAA members d)Life Pass Members
  1. Friends or Visitors must be accompanied by an adult with a current University of La Verne ID or LVAA membership. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a current University of La Verne ID or LVAA membership.

Locker Rooms

The University of La Verne & the Athletic Department are not responsible for items lost, damage or stolen from lockers and/or the locker room. Be sure to secure all personal items in the secure section of the locker. The athletic department does not recommend storing valuable items in the lockers.
