OrientationAssignment (this is a required assignment and you will not be able to earn credit for any of the work until this is completed).

The files below are located at the BlackBoard buttons keyed in bold and enclosed in parenthesis. For example, the syllabus is located at the Getting Startedbutton. As an online student, you should be able to navigate the course in BlackBoard, read and find important information and provide the correct answers.

Read and do the following:

  1. Read the syllabus (Getting Started)
  2. Read Online Learning Tips for Success(Getting Started)
  3. Read the Course Information for Keyboarding Document (Getting Started)
  4. Complete the Do You Have the Technical Savvy? Assignment (Getting Started)—Don’t need to submit, for personal use.
  5. Read the Calendar(Syllabus and Schedule)
  6. Install Office 2013 on your computer
  7. Watch the Keyboarding Installation video (sound is needed) which will provide login directions. Make sure you use your DTCC login, password, first name and last name—no nicknames please (SNAP Online Lab).
  8. Open the Paradigm Online Information presentation. It is available as a PowerPoint file or as a .pdf. It is the same information. If you have already installed the software, then move to the slides showing how to use the keyboarding online lab. (SNAP Online Lab).
  9. Post your first answer to the discussion group under the Introduction.
  10. Click on the Discussion Board button (you may need to scroll down).
  11. Click on link that says Introduction.
  12. Click on Thread at the top and fill in the subject area and message to respond to the orientation. Click submit.
  13. When you have completed all of the above, take time to answer the questions below. Copy the lines below to a blank word document by selecting and clicking copy on the Home tab or right click and choose Copy from the shortcut menu, once you are in Word, choose Paste from the Home tab or from the short cut menu. Save the document as Last Name (this would be your last name) + Begin List--last name-begin list. Once you have answered all questions, you should submit the Ready to Begin list assignment via Blackboard. This is a required assignment for the course. See the link in Blackboard to submit this assignment.
