Guidelines for the Participants Presentations

Monday 5th of May: Appetizers Afternoon

Guidelines for the participants’ presentations

One of the aims of the Academia exchange is to offer the participants an opportunity to share information about the education and guidance systems in different countries. We have reserved time for very short country presentations on Monday. The idea is to offer little "appetizers" on different countries' systems of education and guidance. This would then lay a foundation for your further discussions within the group on sharing your guidance realities throughout the week.

In your country groups (SLOVENIA: Tadeja Podgorelec and Petra Marinko, FRANCE: Fathi Ihalouine, Mathilde Girard, BELGIA: Elodie Mouyard, SPAIN: Vanesa Redondo Ortega, ESTONIA: Mirjam Lindpere, IRELAND: Gerard McNamara and Elizabeth Glennon), we kindly ask you prepare a short presentation and in advance to fill in an information sheet (pre-task, please see below).

Presentation:

  1. In your presentation, please explain the education and guidance system of your country by using only one picture(= 1 picture e.g. a poster, one A3 or A4 or one powerpoint slide, a flipchart sheet, a photo). This could e.g. be a picture of your education system that you can find on national websites and then you can explain how guidance is integrated in it. If you are using e.g. pdf or PowerPoint slide, please send it to Kati in advance (the latest by Friday 25th of April, email ). If you use e.g. a poster, bring it with you on Monday morning.
  2. In your presentation, please also explain how you as a guidance counsellor are positionedin that system.
  3. Please plan carefully your presentation: what is the most important thing that the listeners need to know in order to understand your system. Each country has only15 minutes for this presentation, so these really are just appetizers, short glimpses of different systems. Please use the opportunities throughout the week to ask and discuss with the other Academia participants more of the systems of each country and guidance practices.

This Monday afternoon session is also open for Finnish guidance practitioners from the area.

Pre-task: in addition to preparing this presentation, we also ask you to fill in an information sheet which links the theme of the Academia visit. Please fill in this in your country groups and send it to Kati () by Friday 25th of April. We will collect all the sheets into one collection and distribute it to you in the beginning of the visit.

If you have any questions concerning the presentation or the pre-task, please contact Kati for further information (email , phone +358295338517)
