Guide for the Author

Note to Authors

This guide was created to provide instructions to authors for the preparation of articles for submission to the Portuguese Journal of Educational Research.

Failure to follow the guidelines given may jeopardize the deadline of acceptance of proposals or the very consideration of acceptance.

Formats
The Portuguese Journal of Educational Research integrates 3 different types of collaboration, with the approval of the reviewers (peer-review process) and final acceptance by the Editorial Board:
- Original articles which address research conducted in the field of Education;
- Bibliographic reviews that provide a comprehensive reading on recent and relevant trends in the field of Education;

- Reports on the work developed by national and international institutions in the field of education (these contributions may involve interviews, reports of visits or reports of scientific meetings).

Acronyms - Preceded by full name on first use, followed by the acronym in brackets.
Headers and Footnotes - are not allowed.

The standard for bibliographic references used is APA - American Psychological Association.
The references will be incorporated into the text according to the author-date system. In case of citations, it will add the page number.

Examples:

Foster stated that “the development of education…” (1992, 247)

However, Watson (1994) considers…

Multiple authors (Housen, 1983; Parsons et al., 1987)…

No use of ampersand (&), ‘and’ should be used instead, for example… according to Bechtel e Graham (1999)… or Lakoff and Jonhson, 1980).

The Bibliography, to be included in the final of the text will be organized alphabetically and must obey to the format of the following examples:
