Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope that this new school year will end as well as it has started. All of the students as WMS have done a great job starting the year. You should be proud. Enclosed in this packet is an explanation of the PASS program procedures at Wurtland Middle School. Your child will be continuing their participation in the PASS program at WMS this school year. The PASS program is a system of behavior monitoring, intended to deliver behavioral coaching and support in the regular education setting. Your student will be subject to class removal when they demonstrate behaviors that the PASS program has identified as incompatible with learning. Behavior coaching will be delivered one-on-one between the PASS team and the student with the hopes of returning to the regular education setting immediately thereafter. You will be receiving a home note daily that will summarize the child’s school behavior for the day. That behavior will be reported as a percentage mastery for the day. A score of 100% on your child’s home note means that they had no behavior infractions for the day and did not require removal. If a student earns less than 100% we will ley you know on the home note if we removed the student from class or not. Each student will have a weekly behavior percentage goal listed on the home note. That goal will determine their participation in weekly and long term rewards (participation in reward field trips, nine-week no demerit parties, grade level reward field trips, etc.). If you need anything this school year you can email me at or call the school at 606 836 1023 and as for Eliot Jacobs.

Thanks,

Eliot Jacobs

WMS PASS Coach
