8.1 NSI is part of Insight Certification Ltd which has signed the SIA ACS Agreement to act as an ACS Assessing Body (April 2010). In continuing to provide the Standard route to ACS approval, and conduct subsequent re-verification visits to Approved Contractors, NSI remains bound by that Agreement. In implementing the Passport route, NSI will continue to act in accordance with the Agreement.

8.2 NSI approved companies that hold the NSI Passport Specification and use the SIA Passport route to become, and remain, SIA Approved Contractors will remain liable for the same disclosure of information to SIA. Agreement to such disclosure of information to the SIA is a condition of approval to the NSI Passport Specification for such companies.

8.3 If one or more Improvement Needs are identified at a NSI approved company that holds the NSI Passport Specification, a response will be required from the Company within 5 days detailing its action plan to address the identified Improvement Need(s) and a re-visit will be conducted to ensure the aspects identified have been satisfactorily addressed. The re-visit will, wherever possible, be conducted within a 4 – 6 week timescale.

8.4 The inclusion of the Passport Specification in a NSI approved company’s Scope of Approval does not, in itself, confer the right for that company to claim SIA Approved Contractor status.

8.5 Granting (and/or retaining) SIA Approved Contractor status rests solely with the SIA and the company’s ability to continue to meet the SIA ACS Terms and Conditions of Approval.

It is an offence against the Private Security Industry Act 2001 to make false claims of registration within the Approved Contractor Scheme.

8.6 Further Terms and Conditions are detailed in section 5 of the NSI Passport Specification.
