Tulsa’s Best Inve$tFe$t – March 10, 2012 – Martin Regional Library

Session Descriptions:

Introduction to Technical Analysis – Playing the Investment Piano with Both Hands – Saul Seinberg
This session evaluatesthe use of technicalanalyses to compliment traditional stock studies based on fundamental analyses, with a goal of developing and using a blended investment analysis approach. The session segues into a discussion of indicators that gauge investor attitudes toward the market and their use in supplementing a stock study. Other focuses of the session include the legitimacy of using the price-to-earnings ratio as a fundamental indicator and the role of volume and volatility in assessing risk.

My Favorite Technical Signals – Saul Seinberg

This session will focus on the primary technical indicators used by the speaker for assessing the overall market as well as individual stocks. Focus will be directed to the strengths and weaknesses of these indicators, particularly when they are best used. If you are trying to decide to buy, hold or sell a stock, it would be shortsighted not to take advantage of what the indicators show and ignore the technical position of that stock, since that information can help you to implement entry/exit decisions more profitably.

Anatomy of the SSG - Stock Selection Guide – Saul Seinberg

Discover the effect of potential problems when using the stock study form, including those related to the last quarter's year-over-year results, debt, high price, low price, projected price-earnings ratio and upside/downside ratio in the current economic recovery climate. We'll explore possible solutions to overcome the issues these areas present and make your stock analysis results more relevant and realistic.

Dividend Stocks for Growth Investors – Saul Seinberg

Dividend stocks have become more attractive to investors in the past few years, especially to those seeking income and preservation of capital. This study of dividend stocks will start by discussing the importance and meaning of the Ex-Dividend and Record dates and then move on to explore the key metrics a dividend investor must focus on beyond yield, company debt and the tax treatment of dividends. The suitability of the stock study form for evaluating dividend stocks will also be addressed.

Why Sell is not a Four Letter Word – Paul Madison*

As Fundamental Investors we have been taught that buying good quality growth companies meansthat we can buy and hold for the long term. This class will look at why selling should be viewed asa good thing for a fundamental investor and how it can be used strategically to improve our overallportfolio performance.
