GENERAL INFORMATION FOR

GRIFFITH FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

1.  Application deadline is March 3, 2017.

2.  Incomplete or unsigned applications will not be considered. APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED AND PRINTED. HANDWRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

3.  Attach an official copy of your transcript showing grades, attendance and standardized test scores to the application. If your attendance records show more than five (5) absences per semester, please explain the basis for the absences.

4.  Please complete the application neatly in dark ink or on a typewriter, as it must be copied for all Foundation Trustees.

5.  Return Applications by mail to Griffith Foundation, P.O. Box 313, Neodesha, Kansas 66757 or deliver to Depew Law Firm, 620 Main Street, and Neodesha.

6.  DO NOT attaches a copy of a resume to the application. Include your resume information on the application form.

7.  Only students who meet the following guidelines will be considered for the program:

a.  Student must actually graduate from Neodesha High School. In addition, the student must also meet the requirements of one of the paragraphs, B or C, below:

b.  If student and one parent or court appointed guardian are residents of USD 461, residency must be maintained and student must attend Neodesha High School at least his/her full senior year, OR

c.  If student does not live in USD 461 as set out above, student must have attended Neodesha High School grades nine through twelve.

8.  The Griffith Foundation Scholarship Program is an equal opportunity program.

9.  All students who meet the guidelines and apply may not receive a scholarship. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS NOT GUARANTEED OR AUTOMATIC. The Foundation Board of Trustees shall have the sole discretion to determine eligibility and award the scholarships and reserves the right to waive any requirements depending on individual circumstances.

10.  The goal of the Foundation is to encourage NHS graduates to pursue further education immediately after graduation from NHS. To participate in this program, students should begin their post high school education no later than the fall semester of the year they graduate from NHS. Exceptions to this requirement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Right now I am going to apply for a part time job.

What are your educational goals? (Be as specific as possible)

I hope to go to Allen county community collage for two years for pre law and then a four-year university for my degree in criminal defense.

What are your career goals? (Be as specific as possible) Too be a lawyer for all who are sued or been convicted of a crime. Because I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was 14 standing up for people. Who need most we no one else will. That is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Please state why you need the help of the Griffith Foundation scholarship and also include any other information you think might be helpful to the foundation in evaluation your application.

The reason that I need this scholarship is because collage is expensive. I can’t afford the prices for tuition or books. Therefore I am hoping for scholarships.

Each applicant has an obligation to disclose to the Griffith Foundation any financial assistance awarded or received after the filing of applicant’s initial application. The scholarship will be awarded prior to school beginning in the fall. The Foundation will provide scholarship recipients with instructions on what is required to receive actual payment. This scholarship may be renewable on an annual basis upon satisfactory performance and approval by the Board of Trustees.
