COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, students will continue to expand their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture. The goals of the course are to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing competency in Spanish and to strive for a comfortable level of communication in the target language.Real-life applications and interactions with other students and the teacher are stressed as a means of proficiency in communication.Culture study of Spanish-speaking people helps to make students aware of the current global and historical significance of the language being studied.

Homework Policy and Make-up Policy
Assignments are expected to be turned in on time. If aminor grade assignment is late (not turned in at the time it is taken up), the maximum score that may be given will be a 50. If an assignment is turned in more than a week late, no credit will be given unless there is an extenuating circumstance.
If a major grade assignment is late a 10 point penalty will be assessed for each school day (notclass!!! unless the major assignment is an oral presentation to the class)the assignment is late, up to 3 days. After 3 days, the assignment will receive 50% of credit earned.
Students have five days after excused absences to make up work. If a student fails to make up assignments in the allotted time, he or she will receive a zero for those assignments.

Classroom Procedures & Expectations:
- Be ON TIME for class
- Be PREPARED for class (i.e. Bring your Spanish material, and study for class).
- Start working on the Bell Ringer as soon as class begins. It will be taken up and graded. Every five bell ringers you will get a minor grade. (20 % each)
- PARTICIPATE!!! You are expected to speak Spanish.
- Students are expected to stay in their seats until they are dismissed.
Classroom Rules:
- Raise your hand to speak or stand up.
- Respect the teacher, your classmates and yourself.
- Keep your hands, feet and belongings to yourself.
Also:
No eating - Water ONLY, and
Novisible cell phones.They should be OFF, or SILENT
Consequences:
1st offense: verbal warning (recorded by teacher)
2nd offense: email/call parents
3rd offense: email/call parents
4th offense: administrative referral

Objectives:
Students will talk about themselves, their likes and dislikes, interests and activities, what they do and ask about others.
