General Meeting Minutes

February 16, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 1204 by President Deana Katsouris.

Nominations for chairman of the meeting were accepted.

George Mavros was nominated by Syliva Lovelace and seconded by Manny

Kafes. Nominations were closed. George Mavros was voted

Unanimously to act as chairman

Secretary’s Report: Minutes from November 13, 2014 General Meeting were

read. Motion to approve as read was made by Sylvia Lovelace and

seconded by Marko Taylor. The minutes were unanimously approved.

President’s Report:

Deana Katsouris expressed her heartfelt thank you for everyone participating

in the Fish Fry and making it profitable.

The President also expressed a thank you on behalf of the entire parish

to those who contributed to the second portion Archdiocese’s “Fair

Share” assessment, which was $5,000. Total assessment by the

Metropolis for 2013 was $10,000.

Deana also announced that the children would be dancing at the Festival

on Saturday, February 22, at 1300, 1500 and 1700, and on Sunday at

1300. They will be dancing in costumes made by Joan Dalmanieras.

Credit card purchases may be made by patrons for food. Deana requested

that those with iPhones are needed for the transactions. One is

needed for the pastry, Yia Yia’s and the main kitchen’s registers.

Gerry Jones volunteered to patrol between the three indoor areas and

supply her iPhone.

Gyro Booth set-up will be on Tuesday, February 18.

Deana also requested that parishioners each take a Greek Festival sign

and place it on a street corner on Wednesday, February 19 and remove

by Monday, February 24.

Treasurer’s Report:

John Moskes reported that the church has a positive bank balance

going into the Festival. Monthly expenses are over $11,000/month, of

which $4000 pay for the mortgage. This means that profits from the

Festival can be applied to future bills rather than paying overdue bills

as happened in October.

John requested that everyone study the enclosed budget report, particularly

the months of July through October, when bills were unpaid.

Deliveries: US Food Pub Trailer and Sunshine tents: February 17

Fantis: Liquor and Yia Yia’s Pantry: February 17

Helleas Pastries: February 18,Tuesday and February 20, Thursday

FDS Dumpsters: 2 large, February 20, Thursday

AWS Sink: 1 sink on Thursday, February 20; P/U on February 24, Mon

Manny has the check to pay on delivery

Gas: FL Public Util: apt made to bring outdoor tank and top off the

underground tank for the main kitchen. Manny to double check

Anderson: Hook up outside and hookup for exchange of stove for

Fryers. Manny to double check.

Parking: Citrus County Sherriff’s Explorers Club, February 22, Saturday, only

Advertising: Pass out flyers; Yellow “sticky ad” on the front of The Chronicle,

February 20, Thursday.

Drake’s Carpeting: February 24, Monday. Pam to coordinate.

Assignments: Main Kitchen: Diane Minnelli and crew; First Lutheran working

salads on Friday and Saturday, February 21-22.

Marianna and Anastasia: 50-50 raffle tickets between dancing.

Pastries, Esther, Kim (First Lutheran), Mary Landis, Jennie Phillips?

Admissions: Anna and Elaine; Bonnie and Steve; Stephanie and Bernie to

give breaks and help at Admissions and Gyro Booth as needed.

Gyro Booth: George M., John, George, Taylor boys, Bernie as needed, Deana

when not dancing.

Takedown: must happen on February 24, Monday after 1 PM:

Festival Chair, Pam Masoud, announced that she will not be here for Festival

as she must sit with the grandchildren for her daughter’s out-of-town

meeting. She thanked everyone in advance for their cooperation and

help.

Audit Committee: Chairperson Sylvia Lovelace stated that the committee had

finished the audits of all accounts for the parish and various committees. All

was in order. She expressed appreciation for the fine work done by Treasurer

John Moskes.

Chairman George requested 3 nominees for the 2014 Audit Committee.

Nominees must be persons who are not officers on the Council or any

of its committees.

Nominees:

Sylvia Lovelace was nominated by Pam Masoud, seconded by Gerry

Jones.

Bernie Woythather was nominated by Stephanie Woythather and

John Moskes.

Gerry Jones was nominated by Georgia Nicolaou, seconded by Pam

Masoud.

The nominations were closed. Vote in favor of the candidates was

unanimous.

Board of Elections: Nominees must be persons who are not officers on the Council

or any of its committees.

Nominees:

Peter DeRose nominated by Pam Masoud, seconded by Gerry

Jones.

Garfield Aucoin was nominated by Diane Minnelli, seconded by Sylvia

Lovelace.

Jim Tizvanis was nominated by Ale Dalmanieras, seconded by Tina

Quaid.

The nominations were closed. The vote was unanimous.

Announcements:

Teddy is organizing a trip to the Holy Land.

Salutations to the Virgin will be held on at least one Friday. More are

scheduled.

There will be a full schedule of services for Lent.

There being no further business, the general meeting was adjourned at 1245.
