Great First Week!
Thank you for a phenomenal first week in our new spaces. The students and teachers are enjoying the large rooms, adequate lighting, new furniture and improved, clean restrooms. We do have new routines in place and we continue to need your help to ensure smooth and safe drop-offs and pick-ups.
Drop-off in the morning:
Children’s House and Lower Elementary The children will gather in the cafeteria in the mornings and eat breakfast. Teachers will meet students in the cafeteria and wait until after announcements to walk to the classrooms.
Upper Elementary and Middle School Studentswill gather in the Spark Park (in the gym on rainy/cold days). Breakfast will be offered in the breezeway. Teachers/assistants will meet students at the park and walk them to the classrooms.
Dismissal pick-up at the end of the day:
Children’s House: Children’s House teachers will lead the studentsto the gymnasiumTeachers will dismiss students to parents. Mr. Garza will be on duty at the interior gym door. Teachers supervise students for a safe and efficient dismissal. Remember this is not the time for a conference as teachers are monitoring all their students!
Lower Elementary: Teachers and students will walk together to the front of the school and line up on the sidewalk in front of the old office. Students will line up at the cones and teachers will dismiss car riders and walkers from this location. Teachers will monitor on the radios and dismiss to parents.
Upper Elementary:Teachers will pair up by car riders and walkers (assignments below). Walkers will dismiss through the Spark Park and Car Riders will go to the front of the school. Car riders will line up at cones in and teachers will monitor on the radios to dismiss car riders out the side door of the gym.

It looks beautiful! Next year, we will be able to offer our middle schoolersUIL volleyball and basketball in the new gym in addition to soccer.
Peace Art Car
We have an art car committee of parents chaired by Chinaza Akobi and Bita Nossa! They are working to make this year’s art car theme TEACH PEACE! The finishing touches are now adding the individual peace signs. If you’d like to help decorate the car, join us for the last session on Friday – March 30 from 3pm – 5pm.
Weekly Montessori Moment
All our efforts will come to nothing until we remedy the great injustice done the child, and remedy it by cooperating with him. If we are among the men of good will who yearn forpeace, we must lay the foundation forpeaceourselves, by working for the social world of the child. ---Dr. Maria Montessori
