Granton Elementary Student Council Contract
Being a member of the Granton Elementary Student Council is a privilege and big responsibility. Student Council members are student leaders and are expected to act as such at all times. Members of the student council are held to a high standard both academically and behaviorally. In order to participate in Student Council, all members must sign the contract and adhere to the Student Council Expectations Handbook. If a student is unable to meet the requirements listed, they will be asked to step down from Student Council and the class alternate will take that persons place within the Student Council.
By signing the Granton Elementary Student Council Contract I agree to:
-Be a positive role model and make a difference in my school and community.
-Show respect, kindness, and compassion towards others.
-Help create a positive environment where sharing, caring and giving will take place.
-Help engage our community, friends, family, and Granton Elementary students by creating and sharing effective, positive, and meaningful activities.
-Participate in all Student Council events, fundraisers and community service projects.
-Attend all Student Council meetings.
-Maintain a grade of a ‘B’ or better in all of you academic classes. If you are receiving an ‘M’ in an academic class you will be required to fix your grade before you can partake in any Student Council events/activities. These absences will count as unexcused. In order to return to the Council you need to bring a signed paper from you teacher stating that your grade requirements have been met.
-If you miss a meeting due to absence, illness, etc. you must consult with the advisor to catch up on the information given at the meeting. You must also provide a parent signed note to be considered excused. Three undocumented absences will result in dismissal from the Council.
-In the event of missing school, or any class, due to a Student Council event or trip, you must speak to your teacher regarding your absence from class. Your teacher will tell you if you are required to make up your work before you leave for the trip/event or upon your return. If your teacher wants your work turned in before you leave and you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to attend the trip/event.
FAILURE TO DO ANY OF THE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL FROM THE STUDENT COUNCIL!
