CPAND Scholarship Application

Graduate/Undergraduate Students & Dietetic Interns

The Central Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CPAND) would like to support students and interns studying nutrition and dietetics. One scholarship of $750 will be awarded to be used toward education expenses. The recipients will be determined based on the applicant’s contributions to the field, future career goals, professional references, and grades. A selection committee composed of CPAND members will evaluate each completed application and determine scholarship recipients. All student or intern applicants must be currently enrolled in anACEND-accredited supervised practice program or in an advanced degree program that promotes the advancement of dietetics. Applicants must be members of AND and CPAND for the current year. Eligibility is limited to those who have not previously received this scholarship. Deadline for application is March 1st, 2016. Awards presented at the spring membership meeting.

Please include the following information to apply:

  1. Completed application form (this sheet).
  2. Certification of current enrollment in the above college or university from the registrar; OR statement of student status signed by the Dietetics Program Director at the college or university.
  3. Copy of the most recent undergraduate and/or graduate transcript (original preferred).
  4. A personal letter stating education and background, your career plans and goals, and your reason(s) for applying for this scholarship.
  5. Two letters of recommendation. Include at least one from a professional reference (professor, practicum or employment supervisor, etc.). If the letter is included in the application packet, it should be in a sealed envelope with the writer’s signature across the back flap. If the reference chooses to do so, he or she may mail the letter directly to Malorie Blake at the address below.

Upon receiving the scholarship:

  1. Submit an article for the CPAND website. This can be based on research summary, graduate studies, or a current nutrition topic.

All required information may be mailed or emailed. If mailed, it must be postmarked on or before March 1st, 2016. If emailed, PDF file formats are preferred.
