Seven Wonders of the Ancient World

1. Design a series of at least seven commemorative stamps to celebrate the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Each 8 ½” x 11” stamp should contain documents, symbols, art, or pictures to showcase information identified during your research. Write a four-paragraph letter to the Postmaster General to explain why you think these historical sites deserve recognition. / 2. Study the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Create a non-fiction children’s book that highlights the seven sites. Include 3 – 5 facts about each site. Your book must be typed or neatly handwritten in blue or black ink and must include illustrations. Illustrations must be neat, colorful, attractive and historically accurate. Include a title page with a catchy title and an illustration. / 3. Develop a trip itinerary to visit each of the Seven Wonders. Create a brochure to describe your trip that includes the following:
  • a map of the Ancient World that shows the location of each of the Seven Wonders.
  • a brief description of each site on your itinerary.
  • the date each of the Seven Wonders was built and the civilization that built it.

4. Develop a 10-minute segment on the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World for a television news program (live or videotaped). For each ancient wonder, include
  • the time period of construction,
  • the location, and
  • a brief description of the special features or highlights of each structure.

Construct a scaled model of the site using sturdy materials. Share your research with the class in a 3-5 minute presentation.
