tosupportthatsleepingonaparticulartypeofstandard mattress is effective for pain management, the TAC can’tpayforanewmattresstomanagepain.

HowtheTACworksouthowmuchtopay

The TAC will work out how much to pay for a newmattressbasedonclinicalneed,individual

circumstancesandwhethertheTAChaspreviously boughtastandardnon-medicalmattressforyou.

Ifyourmattressisofanageorconditionthatitwould requirereplacingregardlessofyouraccidentinjuries, thenitisexpectedthatyouwillpayforthefullcost

ofyournewmattress.

Ifyourequireamattresswithspecialattributesbecause ofyourinjuries,thentheTACcanpaythedifferencein costbetweenthenewmattressyouneedandthecost ofreplacingyouroldmattress.Forexample,ifthenew mattresscosts$1,900andthecosttoreplaceyourold mattressis$1,500,thentheTACwillpaythedifference of$400towardsthenewmattress.

If you need a standard non-medical mattress that costsmorethantheTACcanpay,youwillneedtopay the difference. For example, if you have a fairly new kingsizemattressbutneedtobuyanewonebecause ofyouraccidentinjuries,theTACcanpayupto$2,799 for your new mattress. If the mattress you want to buycosts$4,000,youwillneedtopaythedifference of$1201.
